With every trip across the Channel to Paris, comes a trip to Sephora on the fashionable Champs Elysees!
I don’t know what it is about this beauty brand that draws me in and makes my heart beat a little faster. I mean, living in London I should be more than satisfied with my choice of make-up brands.
I have Mac, Bobbi Brown and high street favourite, Barry M on my doorstep, but would rather buy in bulk on my yearly trips to Sephora than pop to Selfridges for a bright Mac lippy.

Unable to take the plunge and actually chop my hair, I have found a less permanent way to have a spring fling with my ‘do. When you are known for your scruffy ‘bird’s nest’ locks like I am, it is amazing the difference it makes when you scrape your hair off your face into a neat top knot.
Scattered all over the S/S runways from Lanvin to Rodarte, it is a severe look which contrasts beautifully with all that femininity and flowers for Spring.

If the cover of May’s British Vogue is anything to go by, my much ridiculed but determined quest to grow out my eyebrows has been totally and absolutely validated. Ha! There is Natalia Vodianova, poster girl for the beauty of a bushy brow, peering out from florals and frills as if to say, “LOOK AT MY OVERGROWN EYEBROWS DON’T THEY ADD TO MY INTOXICATING CHARM?” Why yes, Natalia, they do.
And while her extraordinary beauty might have something to do with the allure, I reserve the right to add her to my list of arguments to support my cause. Other, less persuasive, issues include my spectacularly low pain threshhold and inherent British scruffiness when it comes to personal grooming.

As a lifelong (well, so far) devotee to the endless joy that a good lipstick can bring, I am predictably enamoured with Spring’s paintbox lips (see Louis Vuitton S/S for best examples). Favourite hue of the week has to be all members of the orange family - coral, tangerine, peach…I love you all.
In keeping with my current, accidental, obsession with orange (which already comprises of a butternut sqash swing coat, rusty copper eyeshadow and and babushka floral scarf), sunny coral lips are fresher than red, cooler than pink and infinately more wearable than blue.

Nars have recently added some new shades/colours for Spring 08, to their existing line of products which I was lucky enough to test out. For the past month or so I’ve been using the Nars duo eyeshadow in Alhambra, Lipgloss/Lip stain duo in Stolen Kisses/Pampa, The Multiple in Orgasm and Lip Gloss in Greek Holiday. I’ll start with my thoughts on, The Multiple in Orgasm and will post about the other products separately through the week.
I’ve heard (and read) lots of great reviews, not only about The Multiple, but also about the fabulousness of their most famous peachy pink, colour – Orgasm. So, naturally this was the product I was most excited to test out.

A trendy haircut often cements your fashion status, so where better to look than to Charlie Le Mindu, hairdresser extraordinaire. Having recently relocated to UK shores from Berlin and taken residence in a deserted warehouse in the London’s east end, Charlie is to hairdressing what Gaultier is to fashion.

You can’t swing your long locks at the moment without hitting a whole bevvy of style icons who have taken the chop (most recently Gwyneth Paltrow). Short hair seems to be the official length de jour.
Usually it is pretty safe to ignore hair ‘trends’ due to hair not being, well, disposable. But there is something alluring modern about a sharp and easy cut. Also, ’short’ hair is a pretty vague trend leaving plenty of scope for individual interpretation…

My name is Katy and I am addicted to lipsticks. Nor do I have any intention of abandoning the love(s) of my life as another season leaves a flock of make-up looks like a ticking time bomb at my door. I am, quite frankly, powerless to resist.
Whilst you can’t beat a classic red or rose pink, I like a bit of a challenge and A/W’s gothic lips certainly provide. Like the finishing touch of chain mail on a warrior’s armor, evidently a slick of dark lipstick is all you need to fight the good fight of style.

Oh horror of horrors! Sorry to break the terrible news, ladies, but crimped hair appears to be back. I could have predicted this, really, as any truly terrible trends from my teenage years tend to crop up every so often in all their 90s glory, but I had hoped that the line would be drawn at crinkle cut hair. But no, catwalks the world over have been trodden by armies of crimped beauties - never mind “The Wicker Man” references at Luella, it was the models’ hair that was truly scary.
