Nope. You Don’t Have To Be A Stick Thin Supermodel To Pull Off The Slip Dress

….Curvy gals can get in on the action too. Mrs Kim Kardashian-West proved this beautifully during her recent stay in London. Kim showed off her assets in a simple yet stunning black slip dress which complemented her figure perfectly. And, while we don’t approve of her choice of footwear, there’s no denying that she looks amazing. Not sure how to wear the slip dress? When it comes to styling the popular 90’s trend of wearing nightwear as daywear, take a leaf out of supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s book. While attending the Marks & Spencer Summer Ball last week, Rosie teamed her floral lingerie inspired gown (from her AW16 range with the retailer) with glam strappy heeled sandals. Prefer a more casual look? Then wear with trainers and a denim or bomber jacket for effortless chic.

Athleisure Capsule Wardrobe: Top 5 Must-Have Buys

Athleisure – the art of wearing fitness gear as part of your day to day wardrobe –  is here to stay for the foreseeable future. It’s a fact that was recently cemented when model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stepped out in Chloé tracksuit bottoms paired with heeled sandals. And we’re not complaining at all. Any trend that gives us permission to ditch our stilettos for a pair of comfy white trainers worn to the office is just fine by us. With tons of activewear brands coming into existence,  clothing that we’d otherwise have worn solely for a workout are becoming more and more affordable. So with this in mind, we feel the time has come to curate an “athleisure” capsule wardrobe filled with the essentials that’ll transition effortlessly from the gym to off-duty.  1. Yoga pants – Kanye recently declared, “I like t-shirts and women in Yoga Pants……I live in L.A that’s what people wear.” No doubt it’s a trend that’s bound to get bigger on this side of the pond especially as they’re so unbelievably comfortable. 2. Hoodie – When it’s too chilly for just a t-shirt, but not cold enough to throw on a biker jacket, layer up with a hoodie. We’re seriously crushing on this oversized hoodie from none other than Beyonce’s new line Ivy Park. 3. Trainers – Functional yet stylish is the name of the game when buying a pair of trainers, not only do they need to go the distance when pounding the treadmill but making a statement with a pair of jeans is a must. With all black trainers set to rival their white counterparts, Mastershoe have a fab pair of bang on trend Skechers. 4. Tracksuit bottoms –  Set to be a wardrobe staple, there’s no need to pull a “Rosie Huntington-Whiteley” and splurge over £700 on a cute pair of Chloé tracksuit bottoms. Adidas have great […]

Our 10 Best Dressed at the Met Gala 2015

Anyone else disappointed with the red carpet at this year’s Met Gala? We’re not sure if we just had really high expectations but we can’t say we were floored by any of the outfits. Celebrating the start of the exhibition which runs from 7th May to 16th August, and showcases the work of 40 designers inspired by Chinese culture and art, the theme was China: Through the Looking Glass. In theory, with the prospect of East meeting West, this should have been a great opportunity for the celebs to go all out with the fun and drama. But, sadly no. The majority played it safe or nude. As we’ve seen in previous years, there’s a fine line between fashion forward and tacky, and this year while their bodies were to die for, Beyoncé and JLo pretty much pushed the sheer envelope way beyond the line. Kim K on the other hand managed to get it just right in Peter Dundas’ first creation for Roberto Cavalli while Rihanna was effortlessly on theme in a stunning handmade gown (which took 2 years to make) by Guo Pei. At this point, we’d like to draw your attention to someone who in our opinion is a major style icon in the making – Zendaya. The young starlet was absolutely flawless in Fausto Puglisi and we predict big things to come from the gorgeous actress and singer. On that note, here’s our 10 best dressed Xin Lei in Alexander McQueenRosie Huntington-Whiteley in VersaceRihanna in Guo Pei Poppy Delevingne in Marchesa Kim Kardashian in Roberto Cavalli Kendall Jenner in Calvin Klein Kate Hudson in Michael Kors Karolina Kurkova in custom Tommy Hilfiger Jessica Hart in Valentino Zendaya in Fausto Puglisi

Diane Von Furstenberg wins Harper’s Bazaar Fashion Icon award

It’s no secret that we love Diane Von Furstenberg. Not only is her latest book The Woman I Wanted to be a great read but she gives the best advice and let’s not forget she pretty much changed the landscape of fashion with her iconic wrap dress. We’re not the only ones that think DVF is an inspiration to women everywhere. Last night saw the Harper’s Bazaar Women Of The Year Awards in London. Held at Claridges and hosted by Harper’s Bazaar in association with watchmakers Audemars Piguet, Estee Lauder and Selfridges, DVF was presented with the Fashion Icon award by fellow designer Victoria Beckham. The mum-of-four praised DVF in her speech saying, ‘Diane, you’re the woman I want to be, and the woman every other woman in the room wants to be.” Yes Diane, you are most definitely the woman we want to be. Other winners included the gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who won model of the year (another well-deserved win), Carey Mulligan went home with the Inspiration award and designer Roksanda Ilincic picked up Business Woman of the Year. Sponsored post: Moroccanoil celebrates beauty through inspiration!

We thought we hit the jackpot when we first discovered Moroccanoil – the benefits of the product just keep on coming! Great hair, great skin, a great smell – what’s not to love? Moroccanoil – an inspiring, innovative yet brilliantly simple beauty product – is presenting a brand new mini-series directed by Bryce Dallas Howard that discovers beauty through inspiration. The series has followed several inspiring women to discuss and celebrate their achievements and beauty. Six of them – one of which includes hot British model, actress and Moroccanoil brand ambassador Rosie Huntington-Whiteley – can be heard telling their individual inspiring stories, and sharing their thoughts on inspirational women… “I’m inspired by women who follow their hearts,” Rosie says in her video. “Women that care, women who dream big, women who embrace their journey that are tough, that follow their passion. I’m inspired by women who want to inspire other women. “You meet these remarkable women and you realise it really is true. One person can make a difference in the world. They fight, they teach, they give, they invent, they create. These women allow the world to move them and are powerful examples of what one person can do if they let their inspiration take hold.” Powerful words by Ms Whiteley there, we think you’ll agree. Some of the other women invited to take part in the mini series include Uncharted Play co-founder Jessica O.Matthews, FreshPaper inventor Kavita Shukla, The Sato Project founder Chrissy Beckles, Threads for Teens founder Allyson Ahlstrom, and Rebecca Welsh, the founder of The HALO Foundation. You can find out more about these inspirational women and their work by watching their own individual videos. This post has been sponsored by Moroccanoil, but concerns our own opinion.

The Brit Awards 2014: The best dressed!

Last night some of the biggest names in the music industry walked the red carpet at London’s O2 for the 2014 Brit Awards, looking absolutely head-turningly fabulous in the process. Beyonce didn’t actually walk the main red carpet, but she stole the show for us sartorially and vocally. As the surprise performer of the night, Bey wowed the crowd with her performance of XO, and also made jaws drop thanks to her shimmering, figure-hugging Vrettos Vrettakos gown. She looked like a modern day mermaid! Katy Perry proved that we don’t need to wait for the Oscars to see new-season sparkly dresses hit the red carpet, as she stepped out in a glittering Julien Macdonald dress hot off the autumn/winter 2014 catwalk while presenting an award on stage. Rita Ora added some much needed colour to the red carpet by way of an attention-grabbing yellow Prada dress – gorgeous doesn’t even cut it – and Rosie Huntington Whiteley and Iggy Azalea went bold and sexy in the classic wowsome colour, red! Take a look at our best-dressed below and let us know who gets your ultimate vote! Edie Campbell makes her British Vogue debut for April issue

If you thought British Vogue’s last few covers featuring supermodels were a bit of coincidence and the mag would soon snap an A-list Hollywood actress or pop princess to front the next issue, then you’d be sorely mistaken. The British fashion Bible is definitely making a point of using models for its covers (Natalia Vodianova, Kate Upton, Kati Nescher and most recently Cara Delevingne have respectively fronted the last four issues) and this month’s honour has gone to none other than Edie Campbell. Congrats, girl! The 22-year-old British model was photographed by David Sims, and is rocking her signature 60s look like a champ. We’re thrilled to see her bag the April cover, and it seems like she was pretty chuffed about it too… “Vogue was the magazine that growing up that you really looked at,” she told the mag. “It’s such a farce that I’m on the cover. I remember looking at the Rosie Huntington-Whiteley March 2011 cover thinking, ‘I want to look like that.’ That hasn’t happened yet, but here I am on the front of the magazine. It’s bizarre and so flattering. I mean, why pick me? It’s just ridiculous.” We don’t think it’s ridiculous at all, do you? Vogue’s April issue is out on March 11th – make a note!

Style Awards: Top 10 best dressed celebs of 2012

It’s safe to say, 2012 has been a positively chaotic year on many accounts: stealthy fashion musical chairs; the news of a 2013 royal tot, surprise (read: secret) weddings and a fair amount of heartbreak ensued. But one thing far more exciting than all of these juicy prospects combined is the FASHION we witnessed. From Miranda Kerr’s uber-stylish taxi-to-hotel hop, all endless, perfectly bronzed legs and the hottest off-duty ensembles imaginable, to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s ravishing red carpet looks, not forgetting some equally hot lingerie! Diane Kruger left us in a state of fash-induced hyperventilation, thanks to that Christian Dior couture gown whilst Emma Stone really established herself as the unturned stone (excuse the sorrowful pun) of fashion: she.looked.HOT. From Tom Ford to Trapstar, Rihanna has us on trend-led tenterhooks with every outfit she stepped out in, and Alexa, well, she’s just too stylish to even discuss, right? It was the probably the hardest thing we had to do – alongside trying to remember to use Saint Laurent instead of Yves Saint Laurent, and digesting news of R-Patz and  K-Stew’s brief split whilst admiring her red carpet looks – but choosing our 10 best dressed celebs of 2012 was a limiting task. After much thought, picking and choosing, editing and loudly conversing (read: arguing) over frills, hems and necklines, we’ve whittled it down to our Top 10. Here’s to 2012’s best dressed ladies…. Taylor Swift Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Rihanna Miranda Kerr Kristen Stewart Emma Stone Diane Kruger Blake Lively Anne Hathaway Alexa Chung Who was your best dressed of 2012?

Battle of the September Issues – Vogue vs. ELLE

We love telling you about our fave glossy covers, the hot women (or men, in the case of ELLE UK’s July 2012 issue – phwoar!) gracing those covers, and how we pretty much want to look like Rachel Weisz on the cover of Marie Claire’s September issue when we turn forty. But now we’re venturing further and taking you inside two of our fave glossies to admire, compare and pretty much lust over the fashion contained within these pages! Both fashion bibles of equally footing, Vogue and ELLE do fashion editorials like no other. And depicting the dark mood of Fall 2012 was, well, a walk in the park for these fashion behemoths! But it wasn’t just the Fall fashion we were, err, falling over, (pardon the pun). The British Vogue team added a touch of Olympic glory to the issue with a set of specially commissioned, breathtaking pictures (‘Midas Touch’) featuring fashion’s ‘Golden Girls’, all of whom walked in the London 2012 Olympic Games Closing Ceremony wearing stunning gold creations by top British designers. Then there was that Nick Knight-shot editorial with MOTM (Model of the Moment, in case you were wondering) Karlie Never-Ending-Legs Kloss, – who also graced the cover, her British Vogue first – and oh boy did she have us in a ‘Dandy Haze.’ ELLE gave us the ridiculously beautiful, bee-stung lipped Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, (‘The Power of Rosie’) clad in Dolce & Gabbana’s delicious tapestry and baroque inspired offerings. We loved the mannish quality Fall 2012 exuded, with exquisite tailoring updated in feminine Cerulean blues and soft yellows, and fun androgynous hints in the form of strong brows and leather ties. Vogue’s ‘Boy Talk’, shot by David Sims, brought an Agy Deyn-esque boyish charm to the page, thanks to the bleached, cropped hair, while ELLE took boy dressing to […]

Five minutes with…Beulah London

Launched in 2011, ethical fashion label Beulah London came to surface after founders Natasha Rufus Isaacs and Lavinia Brennan spent time working in Atulya, an aftercare home in the Delhi slums. With an aim to raise awareness of human trafficking and sex trade, after witnessing the devastating effects on these practices in the region, the duo set about creating the means to provide a sustainable livelihood through their label for victims of these crimes. My Fashion Life caught up with the ladies behind Beulah London to discuss the intermixing of fashion and ethics, wardrobe staples and favourite holiday destinations. What is the ethos of Beulah London?  Natasha: To produce beautiful, timeless dresses with a conscience. Lavinia: Luxury fashion with a conscience. How did you meet?  N: Our mothers are very good friends, and we met through our church. L: Same as above! Our grannies were best friends and my dad and Nats’ uncle went to school together so we have been family friends for a long time. Do you feel enough is being done in the fashion industry to support the causes Beulah London is standing up for? N: I think people are becoming more aware of who has made their clothes, encouraged by the media exposing a few retailers. Esthetica, during London Fashion Week is a platform for ethical fashion, so yes there is definitely more of a movement towards it, which is exciting. L: I agree! What sets Beulah London apart from other ethical fashion brands? N: The product is beautifully made, with the finest silks. We are also going into embroidery for SS’13 which will set our brand apart from others. What truly sets us apart is the fact we stand against fast fashion, and support charities on the ground working with trafficked and vulnerable women. L: […]

Met Ball 2011: best dressed

We’ve just about recovered from the excitement of the Royal wedding with its vast array of stylish guests and, of course, Kate Middleton’s breathtakingly beautiful McQueen gown – but the weekend hit us with more star-studded events as the Met Costume Institute Gala landed in New York last night. The Met Ball brings the best of the fashion, film and music industry together for a night of fabulous fashion and exhibitions, and this year’s gala was hosted by none other than Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who honoured the late Alexander McQueen with an exhibition called Savage Beauty. Naturally, the prestigious event is harder to get into than Wonka’s chocolate factory, so we’ve cast our sartorial eye over the fashion elite who bagged a Golden Ticket and strutted their stylish stuff on the red carpet. Here’s our top 10 best dressed from last night’s Met Ball…   Ashley Green She may play a vampire in Twilight, but Ashley Green managed to look positively angelic in a custom Donna Karen strapless gown. The nude voluminous tulle was adorned with silver sequins that trailed into a wedding-like train. Teamed with a sleek up-do and touches of sparkle in her ears, clutch and cuff, she looked positively radiant. Jessica Alba Always one to look utterly fabulous on the red carpet, Jessica Alba didn’t disappoint at last night’s Met Ball dressed in a custom Ralph Lauren platinum strapless bustier gown covered in a sparkly crystal-encrusted overlay that highlighted her growing baby bump. Blake Lively Being the face of Chanel has been a dream come true for this Gossip Girl starlet, and last night she was joined by Mr Karl Lagerfield himself. Naturally, Blake opted for Chanel couture by means of a nude embellished dress covered by silver-lilac a chiffon sash to flaunt her fabulous figure too much. Beyoncé […]

British fashion reigns at the Met Ball

For an event that usually champions the best of American fashion, last night’s Met Ball saw a surprising amount of stars wearing gowns from British designers. Perhaps it was a nod towards last night’s honouree, the late Alexander McQueen, who’s life and work was celebrated in an accompanying exhibition, Savage Beauty, or maybe the world hasn’t quite recovered from royal wedding fever just yet – but either way, the Brits ruled the red carpet. Dressing the most celebs was Stella McCartney – also clad in her own label – who decked out an impressive 14 stars in her dresses (save a jumpsuit for Iman), including Rihanna, Naomi Watts, Eva Mendes, Maggie Gyllenhaal and BFFs Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Thandie Newton and Madonna. Also high up on the most-spotted list was, unsurprisingly, Alexander McQueen. Sarah Burton wore a white dress by her own design to honour her friend and mentor, while Daphne Guinness, Naomi Campbell, Gisele, Coco Rocha, Anna Dello Russo, Karen Elson, Racquel Zimmerman and Salma Hayek and Sarah Jessica Parker all paid tribute to the designer. And the list of Brits doesn’t stop there – Erdem dressed Lily Donaldson in a floor-length navy lace gown, Burberry bagged Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to wear a satin rose gown and nude python clutch, and Alexa Chung wore new-season Christopher Kane. Stay tuned for our round-up of the best and worst dressed from last night’s Met Ball.

It’s the event every fashionista has been waiting for. The annual Met Gala took place last night at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the majority of celebs in attendance didn’t disappoint. Hosted by Rihanna, Donatella Versace, Amal Clooney and Anna Wintour, the theme of the evening was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination.” While as per usual, some starlets copped out by playing it safe in a standard gown that would have been at home at any red-carpet, to the delight of us here at MFL, others such as Rihanna (whom never lets us down), Sarah Jessica Parker, Blake Lively, Zendaya and many more put in 150%. Salon Secrets: How to Style Your Hair Like the Pros

We go to the hairstyle salon and come out with amazing hair. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. But, what happens the very next day? You know the drill. You wash it out because otherwise it’s gross. And, then you try to recreate that fabulous blowout – and you can’t. Here’s how to keep that salon style going for as long as possible. The Long-Hair Blowout Want that classic blowout that you got from your stylist? First, prep your hair for drying by rubbing a few drops of smoothing serum into your hair. Use a comb to get that product throughout your hair. Now, massage the hair at the roots to give it some lift and part your hair and fix the top layers with clips. Next, attach the nozzle to your hair dryer and turn the heat setting on high – keep the air flow low. Dry from the roots to the end. You shouldn’t be blowing your hair everywhere with a handheld leaf blower. It should be a gentle heat. Now, roll the layers forward on the brush as you dry things out. Make sure that you keep tension between your hair and the brush to get that nice “flat-iron” look. When your hair is dry, blast it with cool air to set it. Now you can massage a small amount of smoothing serum into the ends. That’s it. Getting Those Fabulous Curls Getting curls is something every woman with flat or straight hair wants at least once. Here’s how to get it done. Start with wet hair. This job is a lot easier with something like the Conair Curl Secret. Section your hair off and make sure there are no tangles when you start. Tangles are bad. Very bad. Set your hair strands on the groove of the curler – no more […]

Claire Danes for Harper’s Bazaar UK October

If you thought the Harper’s Bazaar September issue was exciting, just wait ‘til you see who the mag bagged for the October issue! Continuing its hot streak of female cover stars, Harper’s Bazaar UK has tapped the gorgeous Claire Danes to appear on its October cover. Minimal, understated, autumnal… it’s the epitome of an October fashion glossy cover if you ask us, and Claire Danes couldn’t be a more perfect cover girl. The Homeland actress is posing in some truly dreamy pieces on the cover and in the editorial, including a stunning Zac Posen dress teamed with Harry Winston jewels (below), as well as Salvatore Ferragamo and Lanvin to name just a few. She also opens up about Homeland, marriage, and motherhood… “Being a mum is incredibly challenging but we still feel a pressure to talk about it in very romantic terms,” she said. “ “We all have that resentment at times and anxiety about being trapped by the role, that responsibility. And then chemically it can run riot. Your mental state, the hormonal swings are so extraordinary and singular to the female experience and they haven’t been taken very seriously or considered very deeply. “I mean, post-partum aside, even if you have the most healthy relationship with your child and have support and resources, it’s tough. It’s really tough. And there’s no “off” button. For me that was the hardest adjustment.” We commend her for being so candid about her emotions. You can read the rest of her interview in Harper’s Bazaar’s October issue – out now!

Dame Helen Mirren for Marks and Spencer?

She therefore be following in the footsteps of Twiggy, Rosie Huntington Whiteley and Myleene Klass. Pretty big news if it’s true, right? The rumours started when the actress was seen posing up a storm for Annie Leibovitz at St Katharine’s Docks in London at the weekend. She was also  joined by Katie Piper (the TV presenter turned charity campaigner who was the victim of a horrific acid attack in 2008) who is also thought to star alongside her in the new campaign M&S reps have decline to comment, but we really hope these rumours are true – keep your eyes peeled for more info as soon as we get it! Cara Delevingne poses pretty for Burberry Tender fragrance

Move over Rosie Huntington Whiteley, there’s a new Burberry fragrance girl on the scene – and her name is Cara Delevingne! Yep, Queen Cara – whose name and face you can’t go more than a few seconds without seeing these days – has landed herself yet an other ad campaign, this time for the brand spanking new Burberry Tender fragrance. Rosie fans shouldn’t be too disheartened though, as she is still the face – and flawless bod – of the Burberry Body perfume. See – there’s plenty of the luxury British brand to go around! “Burberry Body was always about creating something that captures all the different characteristics of the Burberry girl,” said Burbs CEO Christopher Bailey. “With Body Tender, we wanted to explore and bring out the softer, more playful sides of her – capturing this light femininity in the scent as well as the campaign. “Cara’s natural beauty and vibrant energy lit up alongside London’s magnificent architecture.” No arguments there! As far as the smell is concerned, we’re lead to believe it’s pretty similar to Burberry Body, with the added hint of lemon. Mmm, fruity! We can’t wait to get a whiff!

The Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013: The best dressed!

Another Sunday night was spent sitting in front of the television with a glass of fizz passing sartorial judgement on the famous faces of Tinsel Town, as the Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in LA. It was another successful night as far as red carpet triumphs were concerned, with few of our favourite looks coming courtesy of Amanda Seyfried in striking blue Zac Posen, Lea Michele in hot pink Valentino, Marion Cotillard in Dior Couture, and even little Mad Men star Kiernan Shipka in attention-grabbing Oscar de la Renta. We all remember how Rosie Huntington Whiteley channelled Jessica Rabbit at the Transformers 3 premiere, but we think Jessica Chastain was after her crown as she oozed glamour and sexiness in her figure-hugging Alexander McQueen dress. Breathtaking! Scroll down to check out the full list of our favourites… and make sure you cast your vote in the poll below, we want to know what you think! Amanda Seyfried in Zac Posen Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen Lea Michele in Valentino Marion Cotillard in Dior Kiernan Shipka in Oscar de la Renta  Naomi Watts in Marchesa  Nina Dobrev in Elie Saab  January Jones in Prabal Gurung Jennifer Garner in Oscar de la Renta Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Couture Sofia Vergara in Donna Karan  Anne Hathaway in Giambattista Valli Sarah Hyland in Dolce and Gabbana Nicole Kidman in Vivienne Westwood  Cast your votes… [poll id=”391″]

Cara Delevingne recreates Scream moments for DSquared2

We know you’ve had a long week, so take 1 minute and 57 seconds for yourself, sit back, and watch this glorious video of Cara Delevingne star in DSquared2’s abridged version of the 1996 film, Scream. Cara was filmed by Senio Zaprider for the Ultimate Scream video to promote pieces from the new DSquared2 Resort collection… and promote the pieces she certainly did! The video features flash shot after flash shot of Cara posing by a payphone Thelma and Louise style, which we think pretty much showcases the entire collection! We do feel it should come with one of those photosensitive epilepsy warnings though… We think this is a great video to showcase the grungy, 90s theme of the collection, and Cara Delevingne in all her bushy-eye-browed glory was the perfect choice of model, as was the Stefano Riva remixed Scream Miami playing in the background. In the highly unlikely event of modelling not working out for her, Cara should totally do a Rosie Huntington Whiteley and turn her talents to acting, because we think she’s pretty good at it. Her “shocked face” and American accent are really quite convincing! What do you guys reckon?

Penelope Cruz designs lingerie collection with Agent Provocateur

There’s no denying that Penelope Cruz oozes sex appeal and glamour, which is why teaming up with Agent Provocateur to design a lingerie collection couldn’t be a more perfect project for her! Penelope will be designing the lingerie line with her sister Mónica Cruz, who you may remember fronted the brand’s autumn/winter 2012 ad campaign. “It is so exciting for me and Mónica to embark in this new adventure,” Penelope said. “We have always been huge fans of Agent Provocateur and both of us are very much looking forward to this long term collaboration. We feel extremely happy to become part of this great team.” We hope Penelope and Mónica’s project will be just as successful as Rosie Huntington Whiteley’s – as she made the transition from lingerie model to lingerie designer look so effortless when she teamed up with M&S earlier this year. Their L’Agent diffusion line will include 15 pieces consisting of bras, briefs and corsets, and will be slightly more affordable than the main Agent Provocateur collection. Result! We’ll have to wait until next August for the pieces to land in stores though, but hopefully we’ll get some tempting sneak peeks beforehand. [Vogue]

Kate Hudson sizzles in plunging Prabal Gurung gown

For the past few years, we thought Rosie Huntington Whiteley in Antonio Berardi at the New York premiere of Transformers: Dark of the Moon was the best and sexiest anyone has ever looked in a long red Jessica Rabbit style dress. However, we think that Kate Hudson might just give her a run for her money. Or at the very least, join her in the top spot! Kate Hudson looked phenomenal (feel free to add more appropriate adjectives right here) in a fitted Prabal Gurung Resort 2013 dress at the amfAR 3rd Annual Inspiration Gala in Los Angeles last night. The dress gloriously hugged each and every curve, and we bet the plunging front raised a few temperatures on the red carpet too. We don’t know how she does it, but she has once again managed to make something that had the slight potential to look trashy look glamorous, chic and elegant. Kate Hudson, we salute you. Matt Bellamy is one very lucky man! [Image]

Amber Valletta becomes new face of Marks and Spencer’s ‘per una’ line

After Rosie Huntington Whiteley did such a good job of modelling underwear for Marks and Spencer, it doesn’t surprise us to learn that yet another model has been snapped up to showcase what the brand has to offer. 38-year-old model and actress Amber Valletta has become the brand new face of the popular Marks and Spencer line “per una”, posing in everything from chic blouses and jackets to toasty coats to dresses for those all-important Christmas parties. “It’s a real honour to work with such an iconic British brand like M&S,” Amber said. “I’ve loved modelling the per una collection, it’s great to see the quality and attention to detail that has gone into each piece, yet it’s still so reasonable. “The idea of affordable luxury is something that’s unique to the British High Street and something that M&S does very well.” We like what we see so far! The autumn/winter 2012 per una collection will be available in stores and through the M&S website from October 11th. [Daily Mail]

Lea Michele is back for Candie’s autumn/winter campaign

These fashion brands and labels definitely know their stuff. Calvin Klein and Burberry have respectively asked Lara Stone and Rosie Huntington Whitley to return for the autumn/winter 2012 season, and Candie’s has done the exact same thing with Lea Michele. Glee’s leading lady did such a good job of the spring/summer 2012 ad campaigns that it came as no surprise to learn that she had been invited back for the new season. Instead of having a more wintry feel though, these images are just as fun, bright, flirty and suggestive as ever. We think all the Gleeks (and even non Gleeks) will be impressed! We like the print ads, but the video is definitely out favourite. Set to the tune of Love is Strange from one of our all-time fave chick flicks Dirty Dancing, Lea Michele gets seduced by the Candie’s merch on offer…  as well as the beyond-hunky man in the video. Corey Monteith, look away now!
