While doing our regular rounds this morning we came across this wonderul video (over at Manolo’s Shoe Blog) with the infamous Suzy Menkes interviewing the famous Donatella Versace. It is a “must watch”. Donatella speaks honestly and candidly about the Versace brand and her all important decision to bring in new management.

We were promised a “visual success” when Halle Berry signed up to be the face of Versace and boy did they deliver.
Photographed by Mario Testino in LA for the spring/summer 2006 ads, Halle took a day off from filming X-men 3 for the shoot which lasted 20 hours. Versace said of Halle,

Halle’s new role….
Possibly pregnant Halle Berry has taken on a new role as the face of Versace for their up and coming print campaign. Following in the footsteps of Madonna and Demi Moore, Halle as agreed a lucrative deal with the Italian fashion house.
Apparently her shoot with photographer Mario Testino was a visual success. According to a set insider, quoted by America’s New York Daily News newspaper:
“The shoot was beautiful. Portrait shots, slightly messy hair and a wind machine - very glamorous.”

Angelina negotiates
The Fashion industry 
has received a bit of a shake up, following the announcement that Angelina Jolie will be the new face of St John Knits. Not so much because she will be heading the campaign but more so as the deal, negotiated on her behalf is quite unheard of and sets a new precedent for actresses who are hired to boost a brands appeal.
There is much speculation from advertising execs over exactly what her contract terms are but it is thought that Jolie will receive $12M for a multiyear agreement, a stake in the company, a seat on its board and contributions made by St Johns to Angelina’s charities. If this is accurate then it is very likely that other actresses such as Uma Thurman (Louis Vuitton) and Demi Moore (Versace) will demand much more in the future? But are their demands warranted?

Demi is the face of Versace
Its been talked about, but now it’s confirmed, Demi Moore will be the new face of Versace. Photographer Mario Testino will shoot six images of the actress which will hit the magazines in August.

Donatella in Rehab
The fashion industry just can’t seem to shake of it’s association with drugs at the moment. Just weeks after Ingrid Parewijck, was arrested for drug possesion, Donatella Versace has been admitted in to rehab for her cocaine addiction.
