  • London Fashion Week: Sado AW09
With some of the prettiest colour combinations I’ve seen, Carlotta Gherzi’s AW09 Sado collection featured simple silk pieces in grey, raspberry, orange and peach.  Prim puff sleeve blouses, boxy cropped jackets, and mini capes in yummy sherbet dip hues were worn with grey knee socks and raspberry platform ankle boots.  With a vaguely 70s feel to the...

  • London Fashion Week: Bernard Chandran AW09
Bernard Chandran’s AW09 collection was inspired by the ‘romance of the Far East’ which apparently translates as metallics, voluminous shapes, and graphic prints. Lame, glitter and studs in silver, gunmetal and gold reflected the stark white walls of the On|Off venue at The Science Museum.

  • London Fashion Week: Betty Jackson AW09
This year marks the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week, a celebration of British designers which began in an Olympia car park and included a presentation from the legendary Betty Jackson. A quarter of a century later Jackson told

  • London Fashion Week: Qasimi AW09
Making their debut this time last year, Qasimi is the brainchild of the architecturally trained H.H. Khalid bin Sultan AlQasimi and Elliott J. Frieze. For AW09, the duo chose the magnificent architectural wonder of St. Mary’s Church to showcase their third collection.  Lit so that the stage appeared to be glowing, the building was the perfect setting for Qasimi’s...

  • Trend Alert: Leotard Ladies!
Wordsmith Lady Gaga recently retorted “it’s never too cold for a leotard.”  It seems the music world may well be in agreement with this statement.  Previously an item worn only by schoolchildren at dance classes, the leotard has been experiencing a revival of late.

  • Where to buy wet look leggings?
Wet look leggings have been on the fashion radar for a while now. Whether you pin point their rise to fashion “must have” from when Posh first stepped out in her oil slick sequin leggings or from the moment the Olsen twins started to rock them at just about every event they attended, the fact is they’re not showing any signs of disappearing just yet. So...

  • It may be freezing but it’s time to bare that midriff
Yes crop tops are back, I warned you and now you need to decide whether you will obey the fashion gods.As we approach the summer, you will find that they will get smaller and smaller until they are basically a bra top. But the first load are in and they are a baggy t-shirt version of this frightening piece of fashion engineering.

  • Put a spring in your step with mouth-watering citrus shades!
We declared our adoration for citrus colours (orange and yellow (not, may I add necessarily worn together). On shopping around for something in these citrus shades we came across this chic tangerine long sleeved dress by Paul and Joe, helping to confirm that we still approve of the trend.

  • Are you ready for the return of the 80’s?
Some may say it is the era fashion forgot, a decade of designs that are best left in the past. But clearly designers and the high street weren’t listening and we are now facing a 1980’s style revolution. But what should you expect? How about…body-con dresses and skirts, batwings, double skirted dresses, shoulder pads, high top trainers, rara skirts, jerseys,...

  • Sequin Jumpers. Yes it’s another 80s trend!
An unlikely partnership has occurred. We’re used to plenty of jumpers and sequins in our winter wardrobes as we go from day to night, but not at the same time. Yet another once forgotten trend from the 80s has crept back into our wardrobes. This time it is sequin jumpers. You would have been blind not to notice the usual suspects Fearne Cotton, Kate Moss and Alexa Chung...
