The 2013 Pride of Britain Awards – the best dressed!

Last night, London’s Grosvenor House played host to the 2013 Pride of Britain Awards, which were attended by a multitude of well-dressed celebs from Louise Redknapp to Christine Bleakley to everyone else inbetween. There were a few ladies who stood out the most to us – for all the right reasons, of course – and they were Pixie Lott, Girls Aloud’s Kimberly Walsh, and Nicole Scherzinger. We predict Nicole will be popping up a lot in this section over the next few months thanks to the X Factor live shows that start this Saturday! Pixie Lott added some character to the red carpet in her spring/summer 2014 Yuvna Kim dress which she accessorised with a cute sparkly headband and a gravity-defying bee-hive. Kimberley Walsh went for a timeless, elegant look in a white long-sleeved Halston Heritage dress; we adore her sleek straight blonde locks and ruby red lips. Simplicity still goes a long, long way! And as usual Nicole Scherzinger went for the sex factor in her sleek, understated but oh so smouldering black dress courtesy of Amanda Wakeley. A true vision! Who gets your best-dressed vote?

JUST SAY NO! 5 SS14 trends we could do without!

Along with the good comes the bad, and that was the case for some of the trends of the spring/summer 2014 collections that we saw during Fashion Month. While there are more than a few trends we can’t wait to channel next season, there are also a few that we could definitely do without. Here are five trends we won’t be in any hurry to wear: 1. Exposed bra straps and visible underwear. At the risk of sounding like our grandmothers, underwear is supposed to be worn underneath your clothes. The clue is in the name. So we won’t be in any hurry to start sporting bra shapes outside our clothes or letting everyone see what we wear underneath our eveningwear – sorry Jason Wu. 2. Cropped tops. Another trend our grandmothers won’t be too keen on either is crop tops, as displayed on the BCBG by Max Azria and DKNY catwalks, among others. We spent too much time in the gym and not enough time having calorific tea parties this past season, so we definitely don’t want a repeat of it. We think we’ll stick with the looser silhouettes. 3. Teddy bear hats. We love Moschino, and the label sure loves to put on a good show, but we’re not sure where teddy bear hats would fit in day or night. Unless there was a Lady Gaga themed party, then of course it would be highly appropriate 4. Bare backs. Great in theory, and even on the catwalk as demonstrated by the models at the Topshop Unique show, but somewhat impossible to wear by normal folk. We can’t even count how many celebs have had red carpet disasters and near-misses when it comes to tit tape and backless bras, and opting to not wear a bra at all isn’t […]

Kate Moss is back designing for Topshop!

Kate Moss has obviously caught the designing bug. After her fash tech collaboration with Carphone Warehouse was a roaring success, Kate now wants to give designing for Topshop another go as she is set to resume her collaboration for the high street chain. Can we get a Hallelujah? Mossy will reportedly be working with Topshop creative director Kate Phelan and stylist Katy England for the spring/summer 2014 collection that’s slated for release in April 2014. “I am personally thrilled that Kate wanted to come back to Topshop to work with us again,” Philip Green said. “The first time around was such a lot of fun, and she has been sorely missed.” We missed her too! And it sounds like Kate is pretty chuffed to be back too… “I have really missed being involved in the design process, and working with the team at Topshop,” she said. “Now more than ever, with London being at the forefront of fashion…it feels like I’m back home working with Topshop.” According to reports, we can expect a collection comprised of clothes, shoes and accessories, and it will be available in 40 different countries in the world, with pop-ups in several worldwide department stores too. Sounds exciting! [Telegraph]

Daisy Lowe models Vivienne Westwood Red Carpet Collection for Matches

Vivienne Westwood is the latest big-name designer to team up with Matches, and will be releasing a four-piece capsule collection of eveningwear out later this month! Modelled by the hottie that is Miss Daisy Lowe, the Vivienne Westwood Red Carpet Collection is admittedly nowhere near as loud and crazy as the spring/summer 2014 collection that we saw on the Paris Fashion Week catwalk a few days ago, but there’s definitely no mistaking a Vivienne Westwood piece when we see one. Especially since every one of the four dresses is a nod to an iconic V-West design, for example, the squiggle print. “The squiggle print is iconic and translates brilliantly to Vivienne Westwood’s signature red carpet gowns – effortlessly glamorous with a subversive twist,” said Natalie Kingham, a spokesperson for Matches. “They offer our clients something timeless and extremely special.” No arguments there! The Vivienne Westwood Red Carpet Collection launches at Matches on October 9th, with prices ranging from £2125 to £2970. [Vogue]

Paris Fashion Week SS14 highlights from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen & more

We don’t think anyone’s going to forget the penultimate and final days of Paris Fashion Week and Fashion Month any time soon. Yesterday saw the likes of Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Valentino present their respective spring/summer 2014 collections, while today the world proudly watched as Marc Jacobs debuted his final collection while at the Louis Vuitton helm. It’s been emotional! It was all very bright, fun, colourful and youthful on the Chanel catwalk, as the Grand Palais show space was cleverly made up like an art gallery. We always wonder what Karl Lagerfeld will think of to one-up himself every season, and we’re rarely disappointed with what he and the team have up their sleeves. There was a subtle nod to the 50s and 60s thanks to the prints, colours and boots, but there was also a modern twist on classic Chanel pieces too. A real mixed bag that had us foaming at the mouth from start to finish. Cara Delevingne’s multi-colour one-shouldered dress was definitely one of our highlights! Marc Jacobs was on the complete opposite end of the spectrum for his final Louis Vuitton collection. The classic Louis Vuitton graffiti print came out to play, as did grungier elements such as mesh, fishnets, and more black than you can shake a stick at. Marc Jacobs definitely ensured he went out with an almighty bang as both show and collection were breathtaking! Elsewhere in Paris, Sarah Burton went warrior and tribal for the Alexander McQueen SS14 collection – the models even came complete with their very own helmets – while the theme of the Valentino collection was somewhat regal and medieval. And that’s it, guys. Fashion Month is well and truly over for another season! What have been your highlights from the New York, London, Milan and Paris catwalks? Louis […]

Paris Fashion Week SS14 highlights from Elie Saab, Stella McCartney, Saint Laurent & more

Another day at Paris Fashion Week, and the likes of Elie Saab, Stella McCartney, Saint Laurent, Giambattista Valli and Emanuel Ungaro all presented their spring/summer 2014 collections. As we are huge fans of highly glamorous red carpet worthy dresses, Elie Saab is always one of our most highly anticipated shows on the Fashion Month calendar… and luckily, the Lebanese designer didn’t stray from his usual ultra glam aesthetic for his spring/summer 2014 collection. His models floated down the runway in his effortlessly beautiful and intricate dresses which were comprised mainly of delicate lace and sexy Chantilly lace, and also strutted their stuff in panelled jumpsuits, fierce minis, floral pieces and even a seventies-inspired halter neck dress. We know that Stella McCartney likes to dabble in sportswear (being very active herself and also collaborating with Adidas) and that was definitely translated in her spring/summer 2014 collection. Sporty pieces with a masculine meets feminine theme were running strong throughout the very wearable and very versatile collection.  Favourites include the cap sleeve crocodile print dresses, organza dresses, layered zip detail dresses, and some stunning trouser suit combos. Handbags were held under the arm a’ la Victoria Beckham! Over at Saint Laurent, Kanye West’s best pal (not!) Hedi Slimane presented what can only be described as a versatile and courageous collection. It lacked a strong, possessing theme which his previous outings had, which means that he is less about defining the Saint Laurent brand and putting his stamp on it and more about having fun with it and experimenting. Both Hedi Slimane and the Saint Laurent Paris label are growing up and growing into their new roles; this is Saint Laurent as you’ve never seen it! Kim Kardashian makes a sexy appearance at the Givenchy PFW show

Although the Givenchy show during Paris Fashion Week at the weekend was full of stunning spring/summer 2014 designs, we would be lying if we said we weren’t a little bit distracted and excited by Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s appearance on the front row. A newly-blonde Kim not only showed off her lightened locks (still as glossy and enviable as ever, may we add) but also her post baby bump body in a revealing black dress with a sexy thigh high slit in it. No frumpy maternity clothes for this lady – just a sexy dress made by Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci himself! We hope Kimmie enjoyed her time off after the birth of daughter North West, because we predict a very busy couple of weeks as we expect her and her sisters Kourtney and Khloe to be on a very hectic Kardashian x Lipsy promotional trail. The collection is out next month!

Paris Fashion Week SS14 highlights from Balmain, Lanvin, Nina Ricci & more

There was a lot of action in Paris yesterday, as spring/summer 2014 collections from Balmain, Lanvin, Nina Ricci, Balenciaga and Paco Rabanne hit the catwalks. Rosie Huntington Whiteley lent a helping hand to Balmain, as she closed the show in a beautiful sheer number which undoubtedly got all the red blooded males in the audience very excited. There was a lot less razzmatazz in the new-season collection; a conscious decision made by Olivier Rousteing who said that he wanted to see what the stereotypical Balmain girl (who loves her some eveningwear and partywear) looked like at 9 in the morning. A great concept – and one that we would definitely get on board with. Balmain for breakfast sounds like a great idea to us! Alber Elbaz made it all about the shine factor over at Lanvin, as models came out in shiny, mirrored garments – some of whom did so while carrying what looked like bin bags. Bin day has never been more glamorous! Reflection was also a very prominent theme on the Balenciaga catwalk, as models strutted up and down the runway with mirrors surrounding them – capturing their each and every move from a variety of angles. There was no chance of missing one of Alexander Wang’s creations with the mirrors there! The Balenciaga girl is a tad more sporty, active and casual this season. Paris Fashion Week SS14 highlights from Gareth Pugh, Carven, Dries Van Noten & more

Last Fashion Week stop: Paris! Pars Fashion Week has well and truly kicked off to bring Fashion Month to a close, with the first spring/summer 2014 collections to hit the French catwalks coming from the likes of Alexis Mabille, Dries Van Noten, Carven, Gareth Pugh and Anthony Vaccarello. David Bowie, or should we say Ziggy Stardust, would be very impressed with the Gareth Pugh spring/summer 2014 collection as it was sci-fi glamour with a gothic and dramatic twist. The ostrich feather headpiece that opened the show was a definite highlight for us, as were the exaggerated Cleopatra-style shouldered pieces. Akin to the Dolce and Gabbana SS14 collection, the Dries Van Noten show was filled with rich, golden-hued pieces. Unlike Dolce and Gabbana though, pleats and ruffles – and even  ruffled pleats and pleated ruffles – were very dominant on the catwalk, which only added to the drama and fluidity of the collection. We also get the distinct impression that Rihanna will be all over the Alexis Mabille collection thanks to its keen and prominent military theme – either that, or she will be kicking herself that the pieces weren’t part of her Rihanna for River Island collection. Hopefully it won’t be the latter! Dries Van Noten Alexis Mabille Carven Anthony Vaccarello

7 super chunky cozy cardigans

Hooray for autumn/winter! Not something you’ll often hear as the sunshine is well and truly gone and we can kiss goodbye to that dream of catching a natural glowing tan here in Blighty for another year, but the new season has its perks too. We love a good chunky, comfy, cozy knit – one of the sartorial perks of colder climes – and here are seven (because we couldn’t quite narrow it down to five!) of our current favourites: 1. Tartan was a trend on the autumn/winter 2013 catwalks, and it doesn’t appear to be going anywhere for the brand new spring/summer 2014 season either. Tartan is hot property, and this cardi from Miss Selfridge is a winter must-have! Miss Selfridge fluffy check cardigan, £39 2. Granny chic at its finest – we love everything about this cardigan as it will keep you warm throughout the winter and will go with just about everything! Joules Chelmer chunky cardigan, £99.95 3. Long cardigans are not only great for keeping out the chill, but they’re also super slimming and figure flattering too, And this one from Paul Smith has the added bonus of brightening up your look, too! Paul Smith long chunky cardigan, £195 4. Another bright piece to get you out of a monochrome winter colourless style rut. Turn heads in this Yumi knit all season long!  Yumi chunky knit cardigan, £60 5. If Gisele doesn’t convince you to head to H&M for your new-season threads, this knitted cardigan sure will. It’s one of many comfy cosy selections in the high street store; head to your nearest one or the website if you don’t believe us! H&M knitted cardigan, £24.99 6. An autumn/winter essential for so many reasons; wear it indoors, as a coat, or underneath your stylish new raincoat, this will probably be one of the […]

Milan Fashion Week SS14 highlights from Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Moschino & more

It may have been all about The Emmys over in California last night, but that didn’t stop the spring/summer 2014 collections from making their highly anticipated debut on the Milan Fashion Week catwalks over the weekend. Hot new-season collections from the like of Roberto Cavalli, Versace, Dolce and Gabbana, Jil Sander, Giorgio Armani, Moschino, Emilio Pucci and more… Donatella Versace embraced her inner rock chick with a series of denim pieces, slogan concert tees and chains, while also staying true to the Versace brand by making sure there was an abundance of colour, leather and gorgeous eveningwear/red carpet dresses. There were no surprises on the Dolce and Gabbana catwalk, as Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana stuck to the golden, intricate, lavish, Italian theme that has been prominent in their latest collections. Detailed Italian prints, exposed bra straps, gold shoes and accessories, flower hair pieces and more! The Emilio Pucci SS14 collection was another one of our favourites from Milan (if not Fashion Month in general). Billowing silhouettes were juxtaposed with crop tops and other such flesh-flashing pieces, while clashing prints also reigned supreme. Taking inspiration from Bottega Veneta….

We’ve been pretty preoccupied with London Fashion Week recently, but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about collections of the past. The autumn/winter 2013 season is still as imprinted in our minds as ever… and thankfully the Bottega Veneta collection in particular isn’t going away any time soon. “The collection is about proportion, precision, ease, and the simple beauty of the material,” said Creative Director Tomas Maier. We couldn’t have put it better ourselves; the perfect way to sum up the autumn/winter 2013 collection. Voluminous silhouettes are a recurring theme of the collection; although dramatic silhouettes shouldn’t be confused with relaxed and shapeless silhouettes. Au contraire, these shapes are all about emphasizing the female form, accentuating the best parts of a woman’s body with ease. And if that isn’t one of the most important things of any range of clothing then we don’t know what is! Wool in its many formats is the key material of the collection – as you would expect from an A/W line  – but if you think it’s an unsexy material that is just reserved for your grandma then you’re sorely mistaken. Wool just got sexy. Some might even go as faLight to heavy flannels are offset with leather, silk, satin, or lacquered straw, with the idea of print and embellishment portrayed via the felting and vertical lines in the cutting. The colours that feature in the collection are kept on the dark side, with a hint of vibrancy thanks to the red and yellow hues. Black, slate, smoke and pearl white are offset by vibrant red, yellow and curry shades. And it’s not just the women’s collection which we love; the menswear pieces are just as noteworthy. “We wanted to explore the iconic men’s suit and the formality and competence that fine tailoring conveys,” explains […]

Blake Lively wears Gucci SS14 jumpsuit moments after its MFW debut

Well this has to be some sort of record! Less than 24 hours after debuting on the Milan Fashion Week catwalk, Blake Lively has stepped out in a black liquid lame jumpsuit from the brand spanking new Gucci spring/summer 2014 collection. And doesn’t she look incredible in it? Why she wasn’t sent on the runway in it in a Rita Ora for DKNY fashion we will never know! The face of the Gucci Premiere fragrance looked positively glowing as she attended the Beauty in Wonderland exhibition in Milan yesterday evening. She accessorised her new-season jumpsuit with black open-toed sandals and an 18kt white gold and diamond horsebit cocktail ring, while sweeping her hair off her face in a chicly disheveled updo and opting for natural make-up. If it wasn’t already obvious why Gucci loves her, this look will definitely do the trick. A match made in heaven! [Image c/o Gucci]

Milan Fashion Week SS14 highlights from Fendi, Prada, Just Cavalli & more

Day 2 of Milan Fashion Week saw a lot of action, with spring/summer 2014 collections from the likes of Fendi, Prada, Max Mara, Just Cavalli and McQ Alexander McQueen all making their debut. As you can see, Miuccia Prada took the face to a whole new level, opting to send models down the catwalk in face-printed primary coloured garments Andy Warhol would undoubtedly be proud of. Underwear not serving its primary intended purpose was also a thing on the Prada runway, as bras were imprinted into the already bold and colourful outfits. There was a lot going on, but not in a bad way! Fendi not only brought back the school-era bowl haircut (yes, the one that we all had no matter how vehemently we deny it – shudder!), but the label kind of made it cool again, which is no easy feat! Kudos to Karl Lagerfeld and Sylvia Fendi for that achievement! Elsewhere on the Fendi catwalk we saw an abundance of houndstooth, geometric prints, freely flowing tiered  materials, and a lot of technology and gadget themed pieces. Loud, clashing prints dominated the Just Cavalli catwalk; it was a modern take on what we know and love about the collection. An update that stayed true to the history of the brand, if you will. Another new-season collection that tells us the 90s are well and truly back with a vengeance. And another collection that reminds us we can’t neglect the gym, as the pieces are more revealing than ever! Fendi Just Cavalli McQ Alexander McQueen  Max Mara

Matthew Williamson and Karlie Kloss pose for his Lindex collection

Matthew Williamson’s been a busy boy. As well as preparing for his spring/summer 2014 London Fashion Week show (which was wonderful, by the way), he’s also launched a brand new collection with Swedish high street Lindex. And he’s tapped none other than our fave super cute all American girl Karlie Kloss to pose with him in the ad campaign. We love it already! The range is aimed at women and children, and is pretty much an extension of his mainline collection… which means it’s perfect if you want a Matthew Williamson piece with an affordable high street price! “This collection was really about capturing the DNA of my main line,” Matthew said. “I wanted to include lots of great pattern and colour, but do it in a very wearable way. The theme is loosely based on the idea of the English rose. I imagined the wearer in a fantastic, slightly decayed stately home in the English countryside for a long weekend. “I had to design childrenswear for this collection and it was a lot of fun. I loved seeing how the drawings came to life. Everything looked adorable reduced down to such a small scale.” The collection will land in stores and online on October 4th, so make sure you put it in your diaries as we predict it’ll sell out quite quickly. Milan Fashion Week SS14 highlights from Gucci, Alberta Ferretti, DSquared2 and more

Two cities down, two more to go. We’ve waved goodbye to London Fashion Week (it was an emotional, action-packed, unforgettable five days!), so it’s now it’s time to focus our attention onto the catwalks and designers of Milan Fashion Week. And the collections showing on the first day of MFW included Gucci, Alberta Ferretti, DSquared2 and Luisa Beccaria. Alberta Ferretti took flower power to a whole new level, and went beyond her signature softness that we associate her collections with. Although there were minimal feminine pastels in floaty romantic pieces which opened the show, they were juxtaposed with vibrant, bold shades and patterns as the show went on, proving that she is stepping out of her comfort zone and branching into more vivid and adventurous territory. Blake Lively, the face of Gucci Premiere, was of course present on the front row for the fashion House’s spring/summer 2014 show, and we definitely think she eyed up a few potential red carpet outfits from the selection that came out on the runway. Or maybe even gym outfits, as the collection had a somewhat sporty aesthetic to it. Backless garments were once again very prominent on this catwalk (it was a recurring theme in New York and in London this season), as were loose-fitting dresses and seventies inspired silhouettes. Eudon Choi for River Island launching this month

Looks like Rihanna isn’t the only one to collaborate with River Island, as the high street store has teamed up with London Fashion Week regular Eudon Choi! Pretty cool, huh? The designer is used to stepping out of his comfort zone, having only started trading as a womensswear designer back in 2009 after training as a menswear designer in his native Korea. We’re confident that his transition from high end to high street will be a breeze though, especially if his mainline spring/summer 2014 collection (pictured) is anything to go by. “This capsule collection has been developed as I would with my mainline,” he said in a press release. “It was not a case of me sending off 15 sketches and then seeing the final collection hit the shops; I have been involved at every stage of the process and River Island welcomed and encouraged that level of engagement. It has been a really great experience. “I am looking forward to spotting people wearing my collection on the bus. As an emerging designer the opportunity to work with a major high street retailer is an incredible opportunity. My mainline collections are sold in very high end stores and I love the idea that people all over the UK will be able to buy this collection. Who knew Eudon Choi even took the bus? We are pretty excited to see what the designer has up his sleeve for his River Island debut. The collection is slated to launch later this month so keep your eyes peeled for it!

Poppy Delevingne wows in Erdem and Coach during LFW

Her younger sis has been dominating the catwalks of London Fashion Week these past five days, but that doesn’t mean Poppy Delevingne is going to fade into the background any time soon, oh no. Cara Delevingne’s older sister is walking, talking, living proof that good looks and impeccable style seem to run in the family, with her latest look during London Fashion Week proving our point quite nicely. The gorgeous blonde managed to look feminine, elegant and quirky all in one go as she attended the Erdem spring/summer 2014 show wearing a stunning dress from the designer’s latest Resort collection, and accessorising with Cara approved oversized sparkly DSquared2 sunnies and a handy black Coach cross-body bag. Fun, practical, season-appropriate… what’s not to love?

London Fashion Week SS14 Day 4 highlights

Osman Taking a more summer appropriate (natch) approach for spring/summer 14, the vivid pinks and limes of last year were watered down to pretty pastels, with flashes of dainty embellishment. Skirts were sometimes gauzy, cut asymmetrically to produce a floaty effect that made the fabric appear like it slid away from the body. Voluminous coats, surprisingly, are a key piece for next season, given their not so climate appropriate use in summer (well, it is Britain after all), and a three-quarter sleeved candy pink number worn over black trousers won us over. Not so much a winner: the skirt-over-trousers look – it’s far too don’t-wanna-go-there Nineties for us! Erdem Always a show season biggie, Erdem’s tougher stance on the runway was welcomed with opened arms. After enticing us with zingy neons, expertly combined with fragile lace for spring/summer 2013, this time around, he took us on a monochrome adventure. Still working his famed ladylike wearability into this high impact collection, Mr. Moraliaglu gave us sheer skirts sat pretty atop couture-level sweatshirts; a come hither black lace gown was made more wearable over a crisp white shirt, and neat collar and pocket details brought a somewhat masculine edge to his work. Shoes remain major, however – a far cry from the kind of dainty strap sandal you’d wear with an Erdem number: think rebelliously chunky platform soles made interesting with splashes of bold print. Tom Ford High octane as always, Tom Ford’s show was, possibly, the hottest ticket of the fashion month schedule this side of the Atlantic, making the hearts of several editors beat faster than they do on deadline day. A lesson in indulgence it was, as Mr. Tom Ford set about presenting the most luxurious of oversized leathers in burnt caramel; a sexed-up, thigh skimming dress dripping in […]

London Fashion Week SS14 Day 3 highlights

As always, the highlight of the day, nay, London Fashion Week as a whole, was the Mulberry show at the swanky Claridge’s hotel. We received a very sneaky preview of what to expect from the spring/summer 2014 collection via mood board (check it out here in case you missed it) so knew we were going to be in for a summery, floral treat. And the mood board certainly didn’t let us down! Emma Hill definitely made sure she went out with a bang wit her last collection at the helm of Mulberry. We even got a new, never-before-seen piece of arm candy too – the Kensal bag! This obviously won’t be the last you hear of that name, so watch this space! The Topshop Unique front row was probably the most star-studded of them all, with the likes of Kate Moss, Samantha Barks, Alexa Chung, Daisy Lowe and of course Miss Anna Wintour among the famous faces looking on adoringly at the new collection. The nineties were back with a vengeance if Topshop has anything to say about it, as are bare backs, loose-fitting tops and shorts, mirror-detailing (which was reflected – no pun intended – in the mirror invitations we received) and fun prints. Jourdan Dunn’s look above was definitely our highlight of the entire collection! Over at Kate Middleton fave Emilia Wickstead, block pastel colours were the obvious runaway theme in the collection; clean yet exaggerated cuts and silhouettes dominated. Another favourite of the Middleton family is Alice Temperley, who presented a show-stopping Temperley London spring/summer 2014 collection, which was reportedly inspired by a recent trip to Sicily. Regal, embroidery, crystal embellishments, structure, precision and intricate attention to detail – we wouldn’t expect anything less! Elsewhere in London, Mary Katrantzou presented another bright, colourful, intricate collection in her […]

London Fashion Week SS14 Day 2 highlights

Less rain and even more excitement for Day 2 of London Fashion Week! Here are a few of our highlights from the spring/summer 2014 collections showcased: Zoe Jordan was worth getting out of bed and braving the rain for, as the designer presented a clean, chic, predominantly pastel collection with attitude. Sporty yet chic and feminine; the skater styles were a particular favourite, which just goes to show that you can do grunge the feminine and effortless way, too. Who needs catwalk shows when you have a cute, private little show space to do whatever you want with? Orla Kiely has once again exceeded all expectations with her spring/summer 2014 offering, showing an instantly loveable and wearable 70s safari themed collection. From the Moonrise Kingdom references to the soundtrack to the giraffe prints on the dresses – there was no mistaking the theme or inspiration of this collection. It was all about the “p”s over at Ashley Isham – Perspex, precision and PVC. Block colours are back, but with the added bonus of sparkle; and trust us – sparkle is always a bonus! Hair and make-up at Holly Fulton was inspired by the seventies – there’s something very Saved by the Bell about it – while the clothes themselves were reminiscent of an era of the past with a futuristic twist. Akin to some of the other collections this season, pleats were prominent, as were geometric prints and denim. The slight bondage theme was also apparent at Mark Fast, although it was bondage meets bandage meets grungy goth cyber chick all under one stylishly monochrome and neon umbrella. If you wanted fierce black hair and make-up, Mark Fast was the place to be! Julien Macdonald Strictly Come Dancing‘s newest recruit Julien Macdonald presented yet another lust-worthy collection comprised of fierce and ultra-glamorous […]

London Fashion Week SS14 Day 1 highlights

Despite the grey skies, multiple clouds and sporadic bursts of suede-boot-ruining-rain, London Fashion Week definitely kicked off with a bang. The spring/summer 2014 shows were eventful, action-packed and inventive… and we can’t wait for some of the trends to hit the high streets in months to come! Here are some highlights from a few of our favourite shows: One of the great things about LFW is the support it gives upcoming talent by giving it a platform to showcase itself – and the Ones to Watch show is one of the best ways to introduce new designers to the world. This season was the turn of Hannah Williams, Helen Lawrence and Renli Su; three very different but equally beautiful collections. Helen Lawrence presented soft, pastel hued pieces, while Hannah Williams went dramatic, theatrical and larger-than-life. Renli Su went for unstructured, minimal, casual and unassuming. If you’re after a girly, sugary-sweet (almost too sweet) collection, then look no further than Yeashin! Candy colours, porcelain doll aesthetics and fairy tale inspired pieces floating down the catwalk Bernard Chandran was another favourite – the intricateness, the colour, the texture, the wow factor! There was a definite rich and royal theme running throughout the collection; luxury done right! Shimmer, attention to detail and wet-look hair was what we took away from the Felder Felder show, while it was dramatic biker chic over at Todd Lynn. And we weren’t the only ones who seemed to enjoy the Ping He show, as front row-ers Laura Whitmore and Poppy Delevingne appeared to be loving it too. Monochrome, tough and edgy pieces dominated the catwalk, with some intricate patterns and gravity-defying bee-hive hairstyles to boot. Todd Lynn DAKS

New York Fashion Week SS14 highlights from Marchesa, Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler & more

The penultimate day of New York Fashion Week was as action-packed as we expected, with collections from the likes of Marchesa, Michael Kors, Proenza Schouler, Betsey Johnson, Rachel Zoe and Reed Krakoff to name just a few making their spring/summer 2014 catwalk debut. Rachel Zoe took us on a safari with her wild, jungle inspired silk, leather and sparkly pieces, while Marchesa made us swoon with the signature intricate and romantic red carpet worthy dresses floating down the runway. As always, Michael Kors didn’t disappoint with his instantly wearable collection comprised of structured leather tops, A-line mini and pleated midi skirts, high waisted bikinis and shorts, cute cardigans and all-round essential staples. Sexy, wearable – this collection had it all! Betsey Johnson’s show was as quirky and theatrical as ever, with her pink haired models strutting down the catwalk with confidence and attitude. The collection itself was slightly more understated than we expected (this is Betsey Johnson, after all!) but there was an abundance of leopard print and big skirted dresses to make up for it. Dianna Agron stuns in Oscar de la Renta at ABC

We know that her Glee costar Lea Michele loves her some Oscar de la Renta – and he clearly loves her back given all the dresses he creates for her – but this time round it’s all about Dianna Agron. The former Glee star looked nothing short of sensational in a black Oscar de a Renta skirt while promoting her new film My Family at the ABC Studios in New York. ODLR may have just presented his spring/summer 2014 collection during New York Fashion Week, but we are obsessed with the autumn/winter 2014 skirt Dianna wore. We mainly love it because of the simplicity and effortlessness of the overall look – who new a simple black tank top and all-black matching accessories would be so powerful? This is the most chic, fashion forward, elegant and age-appropriate look we think we’ve ever seen from Dianna – we wait for her next big appearance with baited breath as the style bar has now been raised! If we were going to give a prize to most literal translation of spring/summer, it would definitely go to Tory Burch thanks to her latest collection which came complete with  cypress trees, sundresses and more flower designs than you can shake a stick at. Big hair, don’t care! The models’ hairstyles may have been large and in charge, but the attention was still commanded by Jenny Packham’s signature breathtakingly beautiful pieces. Jenny Packham did what Jenny Packham does best and showcased a stunning collection comprised of glamorous, effortless pieces that the models floated along the runway in. It was almost like they were walking on air! We hope Kate Middleton gets her hands into one of these pieces! It was a totally different story over at Marc by Marc Jacobs, as relaxed silhouettes dominated the catwalk. The designer’s trademark pyjama styles made an appearance, as did varsity jackets, cheerleading dresses and basketball uniforms. We were waiting with particularly baited breath for Sass & Bide, as the Australian designers were showing in the Big Apple for the first time after showing at London Fashion Week  for the last six years. Feminine silhouettes were juxtaposed withy slightly androgynous shapes, creating an all-together sharp and expertly tailored collection. New York Fashion Week highlights from Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera, 3.1 Phillip Lim & more

New York Fashion Week is still going strong – yesterday the likes of Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera, Tommy Hilfiger, 3.1 Philip Lim and Ralph Rucci all presented their spring/summer 2014 offerings… and here are some highlights: It was all very elegant at Carolina Herrera; Karlie Kloss’s opening white shirt and flowing skirt look set the standard for the rest of the sharp and chic collection which comprises of powerful dresses, silk swimwear, and lots of spaghetti straps to boot. From New York City to India in a few short minutes – Donna Karan’s sun-kissed models presented her luxury hippie spring/summer 2014 collection – a theme which was reportedly inspired by one of her recent trips to India – which just proves that she is able to spread her designer wings and escape the Big Apple if and when she warts to. It was definitely all about the tobacco and navy! Tommy Hilfiger presented a bright, colourful and effortless “when Malibu meets New York” collection which was evident from the very first look  – and the California Girls and Californication songs that the models walked down the runway too probably helped get people out of New York and onto a sandy beach! Keira Knightley takes our breath away in strapless Mary Katrantzou

Our attention this weekend was on the New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2014 catwalks and star-studded front rows. And Keira Knightley. It takes a lot to distract us from the NYFW action, but Keira Knightley’s look at the Toronto Film Festival is definitely something worth talking about. Nay – shouting from the rooftops about! Keira attended the premiere of Can a Song Save your Life? in Toronto, Canada, wearing a stunning Mary Katrantzou strapless dress for her red carpet arrival. We weren’t there so can’t say for sure, but we bet all eyes were on her for the entire evening. Keira’s look was chic, demure, attention-grabbing, bold yet subdued and just gorgeous all over. She surprised us all but still stayed true to herself, which is the perfect red carpet formula! What do you think of Keira’s minimal yet magical look? Do you love it as much as we do?

New York Fashion Week SS14 highlights from DKNY, Victoria Beckham, Alexander Wang & more

What a busy weekend in the Big Apple! New York Fashion Week was action packed over the past few days, with the likes of Victoria Beckham, Alexander Wang, Prabal Gurung, Zac Posen, Diane von Fursrenberg, DKNY and more debuting their spring/summer 2014 collections to the world. DKNY was all about urban New York in the 90s; we thought a little throw back would happen seeing as the label is celebrating its 25th birthday! Dungarees, baseball caps, sneakers, hoods, and bandana prints were all prominent throughout the collection, as was an updated version of the popular “naked” dress. Oh, and did we mention Rita Ora strutted her stuff down the catwalk to close the show? Victoria Beckham was all about shape and structure, with clean yet sharp lines in most of her pieces. Expect less clingy clothes in understated colours with a burst of pink for good measure. Zac Posen and Coco Rocha go hand in hand, so we weren’t surprised to see her opening the designer’s show wearing one of the cutest outfits in the entire collection. The models showcased romantic, dramatic and just drop dead gorgeous creations that are making us look forward to next year’s awards season as we know one or two celebs are going to be rocking some of these pieces. Here are some other highlights from New York Fashion Week over the weekend: Victoria Beckham  Zac Posen Alexander Wang Diane von Furstenberg Prabal Gurung

New York Fashion Week Day 2: SS14 highlights from BCBG Max Azria, Tadashi Shoji, Tocca & more

Day 2 of New York Fashion Week saw the catwalk shows finally kick off with the likes of BCBG Max Azria, Tadashi Shoji, Tocca, and Creatures of the Wind to name but a few. The Creatures of the Wind designers Shane Gabier and Chris Peters proved that they were worthy recipients of the $100,000 Fashion Fund with their spring/summer 2014 collection which comprised of colour blocking, boxy jackets, tuxedo trousers, pencil skirts and pieces with a bit of a sporty aesthetic. A real mixed bag! Octavia Spencer’s fave designer Tadashi Shoji once again presented a romantic collection; hemlines were both long and short but the models floated down the runway in the same way, regardless. If you’re after a sugary sweet collection, look no further than Emma Fletcher’s offering for Tocca. It’s the kind of thing little girls’ dreams are made of – ballerina skirts, pastel pink colours and ballet tights. It moved into rebellious teen territory in places too though, with edgier pieces such as a bold red jumpsuit also making an appearance. Tadashi Shoji  Tocca Creatures of the Wind Nicholas K

Inspiration vs. Reality: Are Alexandra Shulman’s educational efforts beneficial?

Whilst bright-eyed and bushy tailed editors from notable publications all around the world jet into New York, for today’s highly anticipated kick-off of New York Fashion Week (wait till you get to day eight), we can’t help but get excited about what’s to come. Vera Wang, Reem Acra and the newly shifted Sass & Bide are just a few names that’ll be unveiling their exciting new wares for spring/summer 2014, and, although we’ve got the autumn/winter campaigns stuck in our heads, we’re already dreaming about next summer’s campaigns. Enthusiastic bunch we are, right? Well, talking of campaigns, head honcho at British Vogue, Alexandra Shulman, gave us some food for thought this morning. Vogue.com reports that the E-I-C has teamed up with several industry professionals, including model Jade Parfitt, fashion photographer Josh Olins and Vogue’s creative director Jaime Perlman to create a short, educational film titled It’s A Look. The film aims to inform schoolchildren about exactly what goes into creating the images that appear in the fashion tome, alongside featuring behind-the-scenes footage of a photo shoot from the July 2013 issue, featuring model Drake Brunette. Given that the publication announced its Health Initiative last year, it’s no surprise, then, that they’re spearheading yet another way to inform a nation of several misled young girls (and guys) about the realities of fashion imagery. Talking about the purpose of fashion images as being merely inspirational and entertaining, what Shulman goes onto say is interesting: “The problem, if there is a problem, comes when people judge themselves and their appearance against the models they see on the pages of a magazine and then feel that in some way they fall short.” A valid point, but given that the problems embedded within this issue often involve young, usually teen, girls – who pick up the […]

New York Fashion Week Day 1: SS14 highlights from Red Valentino, L.A.M.B, ZAC Zac Posen & more

Well what d’ya know, New York Fashion Week has officially begun, kicking Fashion Month off with a very stylish bang. Prepare yourselves for eight glorious, fashionable days filled with presentations, catwalk shows, and star-studded front rows. The fash gang eased us into the first day of NYFW with a series of presentations, our favourites of which came from the likes of ZAC Zac Posen, L.A.M.B, Red Valentino and Robert Rodriguez. Robert Rodriguez kept things very minimal, with a predominantly black and white colour palette save for a few powder blue or beige creations. He definitely proved that less can definitely be more. Zac Posen set out to create clothes that look great on women’s bodies, and that’s exactly what he achieved with his ZAC Zac Posen line. Gwen Stefani’s offering for L.A.M.B was just as fierce and bold as we expected, although it’s actually a bit more toned down than previous seasons – something Ms Stefani herself even admitted. A military theme was certainly evident throughout the spring/summer 2014 collection, and we love the use of orange colour in the pieces. L.A.M.B ZAC ZAC Posen Robert Rodriguez

Swarovski Collective SS14 designers announced

Three cheers for sparkle on the catwalk! We think the Swarovski Collective – where designers are given the opportunity to adorn their pieces with crystal – might be one of the best Fashion Month inventions ever. And the designers that will be collaborating with the crystal maestros have officially been revealed. And they are, drumroll please… Alexis Mabille, Sister by Sibling and Michael van der Ham! “It is a huge honour to be part of the Swarovski Collective especially considering the heritage; with designers such as Elsa Schiaparelli and Christian Dior having collaborated with Swarovski in the past,” Michael van der Ham said. “Swarovski crystal is an amazing element to have within the embellishments this season, mixed with other couture embroideries for a set of cocktail dresses. The Swarovski crystal collection is of such a high standard and is so vast that it really lifts the textures and the garments themselves.” Since its launch in 1999, the Swarovski Collective has supported over 150 designers, both established and up-and-coming, from the likes of Christian Dior, Mary Katrantzou and more. We’re excited to see how these new recruits will incorporate crystal into their creations! [Vogue]

Looks like Manolo Blahnik is handing the London Fashion Week designer reigns to another shoe guru… Nicholas Kirkwood will be taking over the artwork and creative branding for the spring/summer 2014 season of London Fashion Week next month, and has even given the courtyard at Somerset House an interactive and reflective new make-over. Exciting stuff! “It’s a great privilege to be able to team up with the BFC on this exciting project and apply my interpretation to the London Fashion Week campaign,” he said. “I’ve taken elements of my work and designed a pattern that I feel reflects the bold nature and energy of London Fashion Week.” You can get a sneak peek at his signature geometric print above, but we’ll have to wait ‘til September 13th to see the whole thing. We welcome Manolo Blahnik to London Fashion Week!

We’d like to welcome Manolo Blahnik and his incredible collection of shoes to London, as it’s just been confirmed that the designer will be showing at London Fashion Week next month for the first time ever! If that isn’t a reason to party, we don’t know what is! “Everybody now makes a point of coming to London – which is very different to Milan and Paris. London is now so important to all these international buyers. London is the future,” the designer previously said. And he’s not wrong there! Manolo Blahnik will hold a presentation on Sunday September 15th (the location has yet to be confirmed but we will of course keep you posted as soon as we hear more) which runs from 10am and 4pm, so there are no excuses for not popping in to check the new collection out. We think Sunday is going to be one fash-tastic, fash-fuelled day as the likes of Mulberry, Matthew Williamson, Jonathan Saunders, L’Wren Scott and Mary Katrantzou will also be showcasing their spring/summer 2014 collections on that day. Solange Knowles is a print-tastic dream in New York

Looks like Solange Knowles is after her sister’s trend-setting crown. The singer and general style maven was once pushing the sartorial boundaries as she performed at Fader magazine’s Uncapped event in Brooklyn, New York last night. We know that Beyonce’s younger sis loves her some print, and outfits don’t come more print-tastic than this fab combo courtesy of Clover Canyon. She entertained the crowd while wearing a fun embroidered jumper, and teamed it with matching pineapple jacquard shorts from the brand’s Resort 2014 collection. She’s definitely a walking, talking, singing and dancing unofficial ambassador for the brand, isn’t she? Solange didn’t stop there though; she continued to blow us away with some wow-worthy snakeskin panel heels from the ALDO Rise x Preen Spring 2013 collection. Not everyone would be able to get away with all this print and colour clashing, but then not everyone was born into the trend-setting Knowles family.

Dolce and Gabbana sued by Easy Rider’s Peter Fonda

Uh oh – we think the the Dolce and Gabbana boys might as well pitch a tent outside their local courtroom as they seem to be in there quite a lot these days. Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are once again in trouble, as they are being sued by Hollywood actor Peter Fonda. The 73-year-old actor is suing the Italian designers over a $295 T-shirt from the classic 1969 movie Easy Rider which he wrote, produced and starred in as they apparently used his name and picture without his permission. He is therefore seeking damages of at least $6 million, as well as the cost of his legal fees and all profits made from the tee. The lawsuit claims that he has “suffered injuries to his peace, happiness, feelings, goodwill, reputation, image, loss of fair market value of his services, and dilution of his current and future publicity value.” Yikes! We’ll let you know how these events unfold, but we assume the D&G boys will want to settle this as quickly as possible as they have other things to worry about too. Mainly their prison sentences; and maybe even a spring/summer 2014 collection… [Vogue]

Kanye West’s unisex 100-piece collection?

Kanye West has officially got fashion fever all over again – and we think his highly successful, instant sell-out menswear collection with A.P.C. had something to do with it. Although nothing has been officially confirmed, rumour has it that he is beavering away in Milan on a 100-piece unisex collection – slated to be revealed during the upcoming spring/summer 2014 Fashion Week season. Quite obviously he isn’t doing it alone though, as it’s being reported that he has enlisted the help of ex Mugler and new Diesel artistic director Nicola Formichetti and a host of other top designers. No other details have been released yet, but we won’t have long to wait to see what he’s up to if the reports are anything to go by. September is literally just around the corner! Are you excited for another Yeezy fashion venture or should he have quit while he was ahead? [NY Post]

“It’s such a shame for London that it’s all squeezed into such a short space of time” – L’Wren Scott on LFW

We couldn’t be happier when L’Wren Scott decided to show her autumn/winter 2013 collection during London Fashion Week back in February, and we’re delighted to learn that she will be coming back to debut her spring/summer 2014 offerings in September. And that’s not even the best news… the best news is that she is urging more fashion designers to do the same! “It’s such a shame for London, that it’s all squeezed into such a short space of time – it really needs to be given more focus on the calendar,” the designer and girlgriend of Rolling Stone legend Mick Jagger said. “Everyone I called to come to London last season came – I just got on the phone and gave them a call and invited them. And everyone said thank you, because they found it really interesting. Some of them had never been before and it meant that they were able to discover new things. It’s really important to bring focus to the London schedule – more British fashion designers should do that.” L’Wren’s AW13 collection was showcased during an intimate banquet meal in February, and although the designer hinted she won’t be taking the exact same format this time around, we think we can expect an equally personal event. Watch this space! [Vogue]

Viktor and Rolf debut bridal collection!

Vera Wang is getting some serious competition in the wedding dress market, as Dutch designing duo Viktor and Rolf have just unveiled their debut bridal range as part of their pre-spring/summer 2014 collection. “We’ve always loved designing bridal wear because a wedding dress is a garment with a lot of meaning and emotions attached to it,” the designers told Vogue. “The wedding dress is the ultimate clothing icon.” No arguments there. However, akin to Viktor and Rolf’s other collections, their six-piece bridal range is unconventional and diverse, to say the least. There’s definitely something in there for everyone though – there’s a traditional dress (pictured above) but also a wedding jumpsuit, a mini wedding dress and even a simplistic mullet dress. So if you’re looking for a dress with a difference, we think you’ve found it! [Image]

Carine Roitfeld turns designer and director for Mercedes Benz

Former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld has finally got her first designing gig, and she has lent her creative talents to none other than Mercedes Benz. We know what you’re thinking now, but no, she hasn’t designed a car. Not just yet anyway, although we would never rule anything out for her. But she has designed the stunning black dress which has been used for the brand new Mercedes Benz S-Class spring/summer 2014 international ad campaign, starring Sui He, which you can see above. “I think this car is very sober, chic and very expensive looking, so I was aiming to design something exactly the same for Sui He,” Carine said. “So, this dress has a perfect knee-length, it’s a perfect sweater, it’s black – something you can keep forever, but with a bit of a sensual look, because it very closely follows her whole body. It’s very sculptural in a simple way – exactly like the car.” That’s not all though; Carine also joined forces with Stephen Gan to direct the film which you can see below. Oh and one more thing; she also commissioned a very special pair of Mercedes Benz shoes which were made especially for the campaign by Gianvito Rossii. Talk about giving your all! What do you think of Carine’s debut designing project? http://youtu.be/Ud0BYlbjLws [Vogue] [Image]

The $68,000 dress: Saint Laurent’s golden shot, or just plain ridiculous?

OK, so we’ve discussed the $35,000 backpack and gawked at the £160,000 nail varnish, but when a certain designer with a habit of irking many in the industry gets in on the action, you begin to question the ‘normality’ of your lifestyle against the lifestyle of those for whom these extortionate products are created. Well, what we’re trying to say is: who needs a $68,000 dress? It’s not an intricate wedding gown, nor is it a couture piece, so why the horrifying price tag? Said dress is an embellished baby doll dress from the Saint Laurent Fall 2013 collection, and modelled by face-of-the-moment, Cara Delevinge in the accompanying campaign. But we sniff an ulterior motive, one that’ll only help escalate Brand Slimane (not Saint Laurent) higher. After giving us a $61,000, predominantly polyester jacket (sacrilegious coming from a purveyor of luxury), we thought Slimane would calm down the flamboyant antics, and carry on quietly battling the voices in his head advising him who to ban from his spring/summer 2014 show. But instead, he upped the annoyance ante with a dress to match, and now we’re left wondering whether we’ll ever take the creative director seriously again. His fall 2013 show sparked heated debate in the industry, given his knack for earth-shattering change, but we feel his most recent ploy seems set to alienate people from the chic French fashion house. For many of us Yves Saint Laurent was the epitome of Parisian glamour, giving us iconic, uncompromising looks that have stuck. But it seems Slimane is bent on overhauling the smoky, decadent mystery we’ve always associated with the fashion house, and, along with the ostentatious dress, nothing proves this to more true than the opening of the new store in Soho, New York; a stripped back abode for a more […]

Dsquared² launches junior line!

Happy days if you have little ones – Dsquared² is reportedly launching its first ever childrenswear line for ages 0-14, slated for release during the spring/summer 2014 season. Excited? “As time passes, the Dsquared² family continues to flourish,” reads a press release from Dean and Dan Caten, the designers behind the brand. “Our customers have grown with us – now their children are also in need of cool and fun outfits. “With this junior line we are finally answering the request of our clients: to create a real “total look” for the entire family.” DSquared2 has signed a deal with Brave Kid to produce the collection for five years, so we’re looking forward to seeing how the pieces will develop as time goes on. You can catch the first glimpse of the collection at the Pitti Bambo trade fair that takes place in June. While we don’t think the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be dressing their new arrival in anything from this collection (we just don’t think the theatrical aesthetic will be Palace approved – but we hope we are wrong!) there are a lot of other celeb babies on the way who would look positively adorable in the potential pieces. Five minutes with…Christina Martini and Nikolas Minoglou of Ancient Greek Sandals

What do you get when you mix ancient mythology with contemporary style? Ancient Greek Sandals, that’s what. “According to an Ancient Greek myth, the gods and goddesses had their sandals made on the beautiful islandof Crete by a gifted sandal maker who enriched each pair with magical powers. Famous for having made the flying sandals for Hermes, the sandal maker also embellished them with his personal signature…a “golden wing” buckle.” And, with this mythological summary in mind, Christina Martini and Nikolas Minoglou set about realising their dream of creating beautifully feminine sandals infused with Ancient Greek historical references. Handmade by skilled, local craftsmen using centuries-old techniques, Ancient Greek Sandals was launched for Cruise 2012, and are currently stocked at some of the best stores around the globe. We caught up with the design duo behind the name to talk holiday spots, favourite spring trends and, of course, shoes. Describe your typical working day Christina: I mostly work in the mornings and I take care of my son in the afternoons.  I sit in my office to design; correct prototypes, choose colours and materials and in general organise things.  Because I live on the island of Corfu and not inAthens, where the sandals are made, I am on the phone a lot with the technicians in the factory explaining and organising everything. I travel a lot; I usually go to Paris, which is a nice break from the daily countryside routine. Nikolas: I arrive at my office by 09:00 and find time flies as I try coordinating a million things at the same time! It is overwhelming at times but the feeling of satisfaction when I get things done makes up for it. Although I try to leave work by 17:00 in order to make it for my daily gym workout […]

Daily Fix: The Boyfriend Blazer

Finding the perfect cover up for cool spring days and breezy summer nights is often a sartorial challenge. But fear not: This season we can borrow from the boys with a mannish, boyfriend blazer , it’s the season’s relaxed new way to work this wardrobe staple. Yes, the masculine, oversize boyfriend blazer has returned from the eighties. The Spring/Summer ’09 runways were awash with this adaptable look. Yves Saint Laurent’s was very sleek , big in the shoulder, narrow in the hips – paired over a miniskirt. Ralph Lauren grounded a floaty chiffon evening dress by topping it of with a boyfriend blazer while Hussein Chalayan paired his with nothing but boots.
