Alexa Chung collaborates with AG Jeans on a denim collection!

It’s been a few weeks since we posted that Alexa Chung beauty tutorial YouTube video, which means you’ve probably perfected her signature eye flick by now. Well, now we are giving you the chance to dress your lower body like her too, as it’s just been announced that she will be launching her very own denim collection. Squeal! Alexa Chung, who seldom fails to look incredible in a pair of jeans or anything made from the denim material for that matter, will be teaming up with AG Jeans for a limited edition 20-piece collection of jeans, dungarees and denim dresses. “The collection is inherently the missing pieces of my dream denim wardrobe, which, as ever, is predominantly inspired by a late Sixties, early Seventies aesthetic,” she said. That’s right, we can expect pieces inspired by those very fashionable decades, in colours such as the classic Wrangler and Lee shades of blue, as well as “palest pink, cream, rusty red and]washed army green.” Certainly sounds like she knows what she wants! She even visited the 400,000 square foot factory for maximum research and inspiration… “I found the trip incredibly inspiring and an opportunity to learn about denim and make things I had been dreaming about finding,” she added. We genuinely can’t wait for this collection to become available. Stay tuned for more info – especially some pictures, hopefully! – as and when we get it! This has definitely been a long time coming. Are you excited for Alexa’s first collection? [WWD] [Image]

Spotlight on: Haxby Debuts a Men’s Collection That Meshes Both Classic and Contemporary Styles

While menswear has undergone many changes over the years, the emphasis on classic, quality style remains a feature for a number of designers. This is certainly the case when it comes to Michael Dow and Timothy White, the masterminds behind the new menswear line Haxby. By combining their diverse aesthetic backgrounds, Haxby Collective’s debut line features menswear that exhibits both contemporary appeal, as well as the classic craftsmanship inherent in heritage menswear. A Debut Years in the Making Deriving inspiration from the iconic tailors of Savile Row, Dow and White have imbued their debut line with a level of excellence typically missing from contemporary menswear. This line is the result of two years of extensive research, which involved scouring the globe for the best in both materials and crafters. This level of attention certainly shows in the line itself, which is replete with items that are both understated as well as fashion-forward. Serving as a counterpoint to similar contemporary fashion lines, Haxby places importance on classic aesthetics without sacrificing modern appeal. The Quality Is in the Details As with most fashion, details play an important role when it comes to the quality of the finished product. Dow and White excel at creating notable finishing touches that make their pieces stand out from competing menswear lines. Highlights of the debut line include many exciting elements, from must-have accessories to stylish jeans that can be either dressed up or down. • Eyewear – Haxby’s handcrafted eyewear comes courtesy of Japan’s Masunaga Optical Factory, which painstakingly crafts these stunning glasses utilizing approximately 200 manual steps for a single pair. All Haxby frames are created according to classic British eyewear design, and glasses are available with inlays of either 24K yellow or white gold. • Footwear – When it comes to sneaker design, Haxby […]

Interior Design: Details Make the Difference

When you’re designing a look for a home, there tends to be a lot of focus on the big things that are trending in any given season. Colour schemes, types of furniture and soft furnishings get a lot of attention and require a consequent amount of money and time to bring off the desired look. Savvy interior designers know that rather than changing the whole picture, the details are what really make the difference between an average room and a really stylish one. Keep it simple When it comes to designing the overall look of a room, it makes sense to keep things plain and simple for maximum effect. While trends for bold colours or big patterns in wallpaper or paint will come and go, keeping a neutral palette gives a designer a canvas on which the look and feel of the room can be created. A simple decorating scheme allows those beautiful, carefully selected details to shine out and draw the attention they deserve, the eye should not be dominated by the designer sofa. The BoConcept range do this particularly well, check out their website for some amazing ideas. A quick change One of the great benefits of a simple room design that focuses on the details is the opportunity it gives to quickly redesign the look of the room as fashions change and this applies to all rooms even kitchens and bathrooms. No matter what is going on in design trends, neutral and natural colours always have a place in the home and give a great backdrop to giving a room a simple change as tastes and interests alter. A good example of an neutral yet beautiful kitchen can be found at Nicholas Anthony. Light-coloured walls and natural floors are incredibly versatile and allow for quick changes to […]

The Beauty of Glass Art in Prague

As soon as men discovered the process of producing glass they saw the beauty in it and used it for art. Early archeological finds discovered decorative pieces made of glass that were thousands of years old. The structure and looks of glass have inspired countless artists and a sheer endless variety of different processes to produce glass art: stained glass windows, leaded lights, moulded glass, glass blowing, sandblasted glass, copperfoil work and many more. Glass art undergoes a real renaissance right now. It was always popular, but in recent years more colleges are offering courses in glass related work. Many amateurs as well as professional artist create glass art, following the long heritage of artists that came before them. Classic Glass Art in Prague Prague, as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, has its own very close relationship with glass art. Not only was it a hub for many famous and talented artists (and still is), there are also some of the most famous glass art pieces worked into the face of the city. Some very fine examples are the world-renowned stained glass windows of St. Vitus Cathedral. The Roman Catholic cathedral (which is called in full St. Vitus, St. Wenceslas and St. Adalbert Cathedral) located in the center of Prague is not only one of the most beautiful churches in the world, but also the seat of the Archbishop of Prague. Its architecture is an glorious example of of finest Gothic architecture and the building can look back at a very rich history. It contains, for example the tombs of many kings and emperors. It took over 600 years to finish this awesome piece of architecture. In 1929 it was officially completed, including the stained glass windows by the Czech artist and desinger Alfons Maria Mucha. […]

Thanks, Cara! 5 Alternative wedding looks inspired by Queen Delevingne

She may be a blue-blooded beauty hailing from the upper echelons of high society, but there’s no taming Cara Delevingne’s wild side – not even on sister Poppy’s wedding day! The British runway queen looked every inch the beautiful bridesmaid for her sister’s big day a few weeks back, donning a virginal white Chanel dress; but she still managed to break free from the clichéd bride brigade and put her own stamp on the look. And it’s Cara’s fashion rule-breaking spirit that has inspired our round-up of alternative wedding looks to sport at your next guest invite. Even though her outfit was a wispy affair, Cara’s scraped back hair, heavily kohled eyes and lack of accessories brought a grittier edge to this pretty look. Keep the base (dress) ultra-feminine, but go for specific detail – be it the makeup, hair or embellishment – that sets your look apart. Click below to shop our round-up of pretty-but-gritty wedding party dresses, and put your own stamp on them, Cara-style! 1. Adam Lippes crepe and pleated chiffon dress, £1,065, available at Net-a-Porter: Although pretty on the outset, this pleated dress begs to be styled with edge. Add black, statement ankle-strap heels or a blingin’ ear cuff to take it to the next level. 2. Lava tunic dress by TFNC, £32, available ar Topshop: We’re diggin’ the sleeve detail on this dress. How about a strong lip and matching lace veil, à la Beyoncé at the Met Gala? 3. Paul & Joe Frivole printed silk-blend gauze dress, £985, available at Net-a-Porter: The floral print is the winning factor with this dress – we’d add nothing else to enhance it. 4. Drop waist beaded mini dress, £399, available at Karen Millen: Statement makers will love this graphic number, to shake things up at the next ‘I do’ they witness. Just add […]

Rita Ora vs. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley…Who wore Gucci better?

Carrying off a Gucci number takes some skill; not only do you have to peak at glamazon levels, but everything down to the last accessory and stray hair strand matters! Making us pick between them this week, in the same Gucci gown, are Rita Ora and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Both ladies took to their respective red carpets in this stunning black spring 2014 halter gown, with baby pink embellishment. Gucci looks always deiver the dare-to-bare factor, and there was plenty of that around with this look! First up to slip into the gown was Rosie, who wore it to the LACMA Art + Film Gala back in November 2013. Like a pro, the statuesque model let the gown do all the show-stopping, by keeping accessories and make-up pared down and hair swept away from her face. Catching up with Ms. H-W was another Brit. Singer Rita Ora put her own spin on the glam gown, when she made an appearance in it at the Weinstein company’s Post-BAFTA party back in February. Featuring her signature tousled bob and bright red lip, the ‘I Will Never Let You Down’ singer added her usual lashings of accessories. So, who wins in this war of the gowns? We’re giving this one to…wait for it…Rosie! This gown calls for a minimalist approach to styling, and Rita’s extra accessories and loud lip are unnecessary add-ons. Rosie owns this one by a fair few style miles. Agree? [Images: Rita; Rosie]

Marks and Spencer profits fall for third year

Despite enlisting some of the hottest, most influential and most famous A-listers for its ad campaigns over the past 12 months, it’s just been revealed that Marks and Spencer’s profits have once again dropped for the third year in a row. While the food sales are on the up, it’s the clothes which are reportedly dragging the brand down… “General merchandise is not yet satisfactory,” said chief executive Marc Bolland. “But a lot of the heavy lifting has been done. Rising profit takes a while to follow. We are improving step by step.” Marc blamed things like “unseasonable conditions” and “high levels of promotional activity” for the dip in sales, although M&S fans should know that profits did in fact rise in the last three months of the year which is a nice and positive piece of information to retain. So what does this all mean for the brand and the future of the British high street as a whole? Only time will tell, although Marc Bollard doesn’t think we should worry! [BBC]

Everyone Benefits from Eating 7 Portions of Fruit and Veg A Day

According to data collated over seven years by the Health Survey for England, eating seven or more portions of fruit and vegetables a day can dramatically reduce the likelihood of dying from cardiovascular disease and some cancers by up to 42%. Perhaps most startling, and more importantly incredibly encouraging, are the finding which show that the benefits of eating 7 or more portions of fruit and vegetables a day extend to everyone. Regardless of gender, social class, education and Body Mass Index (BMI), or any individual lifestyle factors such as inactivity, smoking or alcohol intake, outcomes showed that everyone benefits from a diet rich in fruit and veg and the greater the consumption, the greater the health benefits. Some commenters have been quick to dismiss seven portions an unrealistic target, while other says it should be even higher. Whichever way you look at it, the message is clear: a healthy diet is the single most important thing you can do to stay fit and live a long, healthy life. So how do you eat seven whole portions? Well, according to NHS recommendations, one portion should roughly be considered as: Fruit: – 1 heaped tablespoon of mixed dried fruit – 2 small fruits, including plums, satsumas, kiwis, or three apricots or lychees – A small handful of strawberries, cherries or grapes – 1 banana, apple, pear, or orange – Half a grapefruit or a large slice of melon, papaya or mango Vegetables: – 3 to 4 heaped tablespoons of kale, spinach, spring greens, runner beans, sweetcorn, carrots or peas – 2 broccoli spears – 8 cauliflower florets – Three sticks of celery – 7 cherry tomatoes – 1 regular tomato – A 5cm chunk of cucumber Potatoes, including yams and cassava can’t be included due to their starch content, but your […]

Shopping Tips for Jeans

Jeans are our sartorial best friends. They save the day when we just don’t know what to wear, and for that, we are eternally grateful. However, akin to the people wearing them, jeans come in all different shapes, colours and sizes, which means it is possible to pick the wrong ones and therefore give them a bad reputation. There’s nothing worse than ill-fitting jeans – they’re uncomfortable for the person wearing them, and aren’t pleasant on the eye either – so we’re here to give you some tips on shopping for the perfect jeans so everyone is happy all the time! Here goes: Know your body. Bodycon dresses look great on the curvy Kelly Brooks of the world, T-shirt dresses look cute on petite girls, and anything in the colour orange looks fantastic on anyone who’s just come back from holiday with a gorgeous glowing tan. Yep, different body types suit different items of clothing, and jeans are no different. Skinny jeans look great on girls with slender pins, and high waisted jeans are perfect for the more vertically gifted lady. Bootcut jeans are wonderful for adding some shape and definition to a silhouette. We guess what we’re trying to say is that different styles suit different body types, so it’s important to know what works for you. Try everything out and ask more than one person for an honest opinion! Know the occasion. If you want a casual and comfortable pair of jeans for that effortless “I just threw this off” look, then baggy boyfriend jeans or ripped jeans for women are the way to go! If you’re looking for something to wear in the smart/casual bracket, then there’s nothing quite as chic as a black pair of skinny jeans teamed with a sky high heel and a fitted […]

Why John Galliano isn’t heading to Oscar de la Renta…

If you cast your minds back to last year, you may remember that rumours were rife about John Galliano taking up a permanent position at Oscar de la Renta. After ODLR gave JG a part-time residence, the long-term partnership sounded like a dead cert, despite no official confirmation from the fashion House. However, it doesn’t look like that’s going ahead now, and it’s being reported that money is the main issue… “The team at Oscar were not willing to put up the money to pay for the design team John needed, such as the cutters and other specialist support staff for his atelier,” a “source” apparently told the guys at Page Six. “Money was the biggest factor which held up the negotiations, and they couldn’t reach an agreement, although John and Oscar remain very good friends. John is grateful that Oscar gave him a second chance.” Could these rumours be circulating to deliberately throw us off the scent? Only time will tell, but we’re quite disappointed John Galliano and Oscar de la Renta won’t be working together. Do you think the boys would have had a good partnership?

Kate Middleton wows in New Zealand in her respective Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham outfits

What is better than ogling one Kate Middleton outfit? That’s right – ogling two! It was a busy day for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge yesterday, as they continued their tour of New Zealand by firstly attending the Blenheim War Memorial and then heading off to a lavish state reception at Government House. Not before a quick change of outfits, obviously. Kate firstly donned a beautiful custom blue coat dress by Alexander McQueen – not hugely dissimilar to the Utility Coat Dress that comes in pale blue and black versions from the pre-spring/summer collection – and teamed it with a chic ponytail, and matching suede shoes and a Stuart Weitzman clutch bag.  Another sleek and sophisticated look from the Duchess! She then upped the glamour factor for the lavish reception in the evening; she still stuck with a British designer as far as her outfit was concerned, but swapped the Alexander McQueen for another one of her favourites: Jenny Packham! Kate wore a stunning bespoke black Jenny Packham dress, complete with long sleeves and a sparkling fern on the left shoulder – an obvious tribute to New Zealand. Her trademark voluminous locks were back in action, giving us serious shine and curl envy all at the same time. How is it possible for one person to be so perfect? Two flawless looks from our future Queen – what do you guys think?

Tod’s leather sandals: Yay or Nay?

We totally need a pair because… Well, sunnier days are a-knockin’, and we can’t think of a better (or more chicher) way of showing off that freshly done, Chanel spring/summer ’14-inspired painterly pedicure, than slipping into these Tod’s leather sandals, (£455). Although the monochrome palette is the winning factor – charged, naturally, with a dose of Italian glamour – it’s the comfortable style and wear-with-everything- appeal that’s tempting us towards that ‘Buy now’ button. Damn you, pretty shoe! It’s a certified YAY for these reasons… Flattering colours: There isn’t much a monochromatic sandal won’t go with, and the gold chain detail works to add that much needed ‘Riviera’ edge. You won’t struggle to come up with ensembles worthy of pairing with these beauties! Wear-with-anything-appeal: Whether it’s the perfect summer dress, or a smartly tailored look for work; these sandals promise to land you brownie points in the shoe department. But, maybe a NAY for these… Price: Although they won’t leave you limping with sore feet, your bank account will surely be at risk of falling in the red once you click these shoedrobe-completing specimens home. At £455 a pop, they’re pretty but pricey. Not weatherproof: Being Italian-made, expect nothing less than buttery-soft, tanned calf leather to adorn your feet. Now, we all know that plush leather and puddles don’t mix too well; and given our track record for unpredictable weather, you’ll be suffering from soggy sandal syndrome frequently. Are they worth the puddle-hopping hassle? Tod’s leather sandals, £455, available at My Theresa.

Twinings Infusions and Huffington Post create work and lifestyle portal

We love a good cup of tea. We challenge you to find a British girl who doesn’t.  And we also love surfing the net for fun and interesting stories when we’re having a well-deserved break from work. So imagine our delight when we learnt that our two favourite things – tea and reading – were coming together in an epic we-can’t-believe-this-hasn’t-been-done-before collaboration. Twinings Infusions has teamed up with Huffington Post to create a 10 Reasons Why It’s Good to Gossip at Work article was particularly interesting and informative – and what girl isn’t partial to a bit of gossiping? The boys might have you believe that gossiping is bad, but in actual fact, the article states that “good gossip” is necessary for the good of humanity. This is something we can definitely get on board with, and you can too – especially if you work with a small group of people and interaction with your colleagues is key.  “A lot of gossip is driven by concern for others and has positive, social effects,” said Dr Robb Willer, co-author of The Virtues of Gossip. “We find that those who engage in this form of gossip are generally driven by sincere desires to help others,” he continued, before adding that it also eases frustration and makes people feel better if their gossip has a chance to help others at the same time, too. “More generous people are more likely to engage in this form of gossip.” And there we were feeling guilty about our love of gossiping with the girls all these years! Where would we be without this portal, eh? Another article which we particularly enjoyed while sipping on a hot and tasty cup of Twinings Infusions was the one entitled

Jourdan Dunn vs. Anna Dello Russo…Who wore Moschino better?

This week’s dress-off has pulled in two major fashion players, both of whom know how to leave their well-dressed imprints on our style-saturated minds. Upping the glam factor during Fashion Month, as per usual, was Anna Dello Russo – the high priestess of unabashed, high end fashion that says nothing of a tamed approach to dressing in the morning. Sporting autumn/winter ‘14’s biggest parody of fast fashion – the ‘Over 20 Billion Served’ McDonald’s sweatshirt, masterminded by Jeremy Scott at Moschino – during Milan Fashion Week, ADR gave us (and the flurry of street style photogs) pure, unadulterated viewing pleasure. Wearing it as a dress, she accessorised with a matching quilted bag, featuring the symbolic Golden Arches; a woollen scarf and lace-up booties. The matching phone cover certifies this look as Dello Russo down to a T. But, putting a slightly more pared back spin on this brash runway number was Brit babe Jourdan Dunn, who opted to take a much more NYC approach with her styling. Tempering the loudness of the sweat with all-black staples; a leather mini skirt, shearling coat, trusty tote and Balenciaga cut-out boots completed the look. Perfect. So, who deserves to be crowned the sartorial queen in this war of wonderful wares? Given there’s a world of difference between the styles of these two fashion queens; we’re sticking with our slick style guns on this and awarding Jourdan the accolade. Anna’s power dressing prowess never fails to excite, but Jourdan’s effortless ease makes her look a lot more wearable. You go, girl. [Images: Jourdan; Anna]

Dame Vivienne Westwood takes a shower for PETA and World Water Day

Dame Vivienne Westwood isn’t afraid of making a bold or controversial statement – only this time she is using her body as well as her words to do so! The 72-year-old fashion designer has stripped naked to take a shower in a new video for PETA to raise awareness for World Water Day (March 22nd, FYI), which links the world water crisis to the overconsumption of meat. “I am an eco-warrior, but I take long showers with a clean conscience because I’m vegetarian,” Dame Viv said. “By avoiding meat, you do more for the environment than recycling or driving a hybrid car.” “The meat trade is not only the worst polluter on the planet but it also squanders most of our water. Rivers are diverted for miserable factory farms. The water goes not just to the poor overcrowded animals but to grow the 16lbs of grain it takes to make just 1lb of meat.” You can watch the video in its entirety below. Do you think Dame Vivienne Westwood makes a good point? You can find out more on the PETA website. We can’t wait to see what cause she gets behind next, because as you know, she certainly doesn’t do things by halves! [Telegraph]

Ruined: Runway to High Street looks that were destroyed in the process

Imagine something you hold so close to your heart taken away, replicated a million and one times (substandardly), then force-fed to the masses? Something like this, sadly, happened to the inimitable Isabel Marant. In an article by Fashionista, Marant reflects (read: complains) on the effect of her reigning wedge sneaker being replicated, rather recklessly, by the High Street and other designers. Referring to the rip-offs as “super-ugly,” the designer said: “I don’t wear them as often as I [used to] because I see too [many bad copies] in the street. I’m not saying mine are the most beautiful shoes, but they have a certain [style]. And on the weekends, I’m so happy to have them because I feel so good in them. I don’t want to throw them out.” Sad times for Bobby et Betty, non? After all, she’s the master behind that Parisian cool-girl aesthetic every fashion girl and her mother seek to emulate. And, although she’s still “selling a lot,” the far-reaching consequences of High Street copies is a heavyhearted tale – even for seasoned designers, whom all know the fate of a bestseller. So, as an aid to soothe Madame Marant’s heartache over her beloved leg-lengtheners being cloned by the dozen, we’ve picked out five other runway hits that exploded onto the high street, took over our wardrobes, and left a bad taste in their designer parents’ mouths. Read on, High Street lovers. Slogan tees: We blame the Acne and 3.1 Phillip Lim spring/summer 2013 shows for planting the seed of slogan tee addiction in our minds. After their runway debut, the likes of New Look and ASOS got in on the action, too. The result: more ‘meh’ than look-at-me Leopard print: Oh, this is a fine animal-print line to tread. Running the gamut from doable to […]

Sibling rivalry: Which Kardashian deserves to land an American Vogue cover?

“To be in Vogue has to mean something,” stated Anna Wintour, and, well, she’s speaking the biblical truth. Campaigning for this prestigious right are two siblings from the world’s most talked about family/klan, depending on how you prefer to address them. Kim Kardashian – the queen of Céline separates and Tom Ford pieces so tight, they create curves ever she didn’t know existed– has kept the fashion set (and herself) guessing whether the coveted prize of cover girl shall be hers (let’s not forget, she’s already been L’uomo-d). From a lobbying partner, whom eventually got his beau to make an unforgettable entrance at the 2013 MET Gala – an event she had previously been banned from by Her Majesty Anna Wintour – to befriending Carine Roitfeld and scoring couture pieces (and front row seats) in Paris, earlier this year; Kim isn’t playing games, she’s ruddy serious. But then again, so is her twee-faced, doe-eyed, long-limbed sibling, Kendall Jenner. The upcoming model has been scoring some fashion hot seats of late. From a nipple-on-show performance at the Marc Jacobs autumn/winter 2014 show to walking for Giles in the Big Smoke, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with Anna Wintour at the Topshop Unique show and posing for a certified selfie with Delevingne and gang backstage; junior Jenner’s sure as hell making her mark in notable fashion circles.  And, all sans sexual controversies, slip-ups and stunts. So, who will be victorious in the race to win Wintour’s (steely) heart, and be the first to grace the glossy covers of the world’s most highly regarded fashion tome? Below, our strongest arguments for putting either sibling on the cover of American Vogue- or both, if Wintour’s feeling generous… Why Kim Kardashian? Luxury-appreciation factor: Kim sure knows the wow factor value of pairing the luxurious, most expensive of wardrobe pieces together […]

WATCH: London Fashion Week AW14 highlights from Burberry, David Koma, Michael van der Ham & more

No rest for the wicked – or stylish – Day 4 of London Fashion Week was just as jam-packed and exciting as ever; and we were there to take in all the action! Where else would we be on a day when Burberry, David Koma, Michael van der Ham, Tom Ford and Roksanda Ilincic are showcasing their autumn/winter 2014 collections, eh? Burberry AW14 One of the highlights of the day – and the five day event as a whole – was the Burberry Prorsum autumn/winter 2014 show. Luckily it was a dry affair (not that a little or a lot of rain would have stopped us) and the front row was as star-studded as ever. Bradley Cooper, Harry Styles, Sky Ferreira, Anna Wintour and more celebs graced the front row to view the collection first hand – and we think they would have been pretty chuffed with what they saw. If there was one thing we took away from the show, It was that we need to go scarf shopping asap. Scarves as you know them will no longer suffice, as it’s all about the oversized ones that can double up as a blanket. Or you could just buy a blanket with your initials on, as they too made it down the Burberry runway in the epic finale. Burberry definitely didn’t do things by halves in the music department either, as we were treated to a stellar performance by the one and only Paloma Faith. Pipe envy! Overall, Burberry presented a soft, casual, comfortable and warm collection which Christopher Bailey said was inspired by the Charleston Farmhouse in Sussex of the Bloomsbury Group. And if you head to the brand’s official website right now you can preorder the collection and ensure that you’re one of the first people to own […]

London Fashion Week AW14 highlights from Emilia Wickstead, Joseph, Hunter Original & more

Braving the gusty elements, Team MFL trekked to Somerset House (and beyond) for day two of London Fashion Week fashtivities. Well, given today’s stellar schedule, cosying up indoors and living vicariously through Style.com just wasn’t an option! Winter work wear woes went straight out the window at Holly Fulton, this morning, as the ideal “working girl” made her way down the runway. Etching the collection purely from her experience as a working woman – but one with a head for serious, workable fashion – Fulton gave us masculine coats imprinted with stunning motifs; sheath dresses and fluid pencil skirts featuring kookily enlarged mobile phone bearing hand motifs – avec perfecto manicured nails, of course. A nod to the “corporate cog” came courtesy of a glittery knit printed with the aforementioned  component, while mini briefcases and stacked bangles alluded to Fulton’s ability to create magic with her hands, literally. Effortlessly moving from a black to grey palette, Joseph is the go-to label for those channelling fashion’s new comfort-led direction. The autumn/winter 2014 presentation promised chill-proof staples with that rooted for masculine allure. Long-line, voluminous knits sat atop perfectly tailored pants, while the sharpness of a suit blazer was tempered with pleated skirts, pussy-bow blouses and touches of mid-Western fringing sliced in black leather. A coordinating trio of peg leg pants, oversize knit and beanie hat broke away from the neutral colour trail, but otherwise, this collection is an easy- goers dream come true. Possibly the dreamiest of designers when it comes to this side of the pond; this season, Emilia Wickstead reminded us of those dark, wintry nights we refuse to embrace with ease. The show notes referenced “Film Noir”, and we got exactly that: a clear vision of what winter’s dangerously stylish woman will look like, come September. From a […]

London Fashion Week AW14 highlights from Bora Aksu, Felder Felder, DAKS & more

New York Fashion Week got us officially geared up for the autumn/winter 2014 trends, so we weren’t going to let a little (ok a big, inconvenient and suede-shoe-destroying but we’re fine, we’re over it) thing like rain stop us from flocking to Somerset House along with the equally drenched fash-pack to see what the first day of London Fashion Week had to offer. Felder Felder, DAKS, Eudon Choi, Bora Aksu and J JS Lee all showcased their new season creations to the fashionable London crowds, and didn’t seem phased by the pressure to make sure their collections matched the standard of those in the Big Apple. Tommy Hilfiger inspired us to go on a snowy, winter hike, and Jackie Lee has inspired us to go camping thanks to the new autumn/winter 2014  pieces we saw early this morning. There was an abundance of houndstooth and check print that adorned the casual, cool, practical but on-trend pieces,  and the colour palette was kept understated. A far cry from her feminine, all-pink collection from last season, but isn’t versatility and the ability to create the shock factor what a good fashion designer is? We rest our case; well done J JS Lee! Eudon Choi got us all into the party spirit/gave us that Friday feeling thanks to the Rolling Stones soundtrack. Sex and drugs are optional, but rock and roll was essential! Legendary music choices aside, we saw lots of tartan on the catwalk (we told you, didn’t we?) although it came in a colder, bluer hue than the traditional red one we’re used to. The collection as a whole was a refined take on 60s fashion – and that’s something we got from the cigarette trousers, flared cuffs and print-tastic knitwear pieces as well as the aforementioned soundtrack. Oh, and you […]

Five minutes with Mathew Dixon – Director of Hudson Walker International

Mathew Dixon has 10 years of experience as the Director of Hudson Walker International – a high-end, eminent recruitment business specialising in the fashion, luxury and lifestyle industries. In this exclusive interview with My Fashion Life, we caught up with Mathew to talk fashion, brand integrity and staying relevant in an ever changing niche. What fuelled your decision to embark on a career in the luxury fashion recruitment industry? I wanted a career within the luxury sector that would give me the opportunity to work with inspirational people. Recruitment is a job that gives me the autonomy to work with key decision makers in some of the most prestigious luxury brands in the world. I am fortunate to be part of a collaborative process where a brand will often explain their strategy for the future and retain us to secure the very best talent in the market to make it happen. To see a candidate we have placed succeed in a brand and make a dramatic impact is incredibly gratifying. In a niche industry such as this, what common challenges do all luxury brands face? CEO’s continually talk about the ‘war for talent’. Luxury brands recruit their senior executives from an incredibly small pool of the available work force. All are looking for individuals with true vision and outstanding records of success throughout their careers. Such sought after people do not jump from one project to the next, but instead build a legacy wherever they work. Our role is to build long-term relations with the top 5% of candidates so if there is a truly exceptional opportunity within a brand, they are prepared to listen and discuss it with us. Outside of talent acquisition issues, the greatest challenge luxury brands have is protecting their brand integrity. With more and more […]

Your 2014 guide to firming creams….

The arrival of the New Year is a better time than any to embark on a new beauty regime. You might think that firming creams are the preserve of older women, although beauty therapists suggest that it’s much better to start using these products in your late-twenties to prevent the onset of ageing. Speaking to the Daily Mail, Elaine Mills, Marketing Manager for the Sensai brand, said: “more and more women [are] looking to use a firming product as a preventative measure against the signs of ageing and not wait until the symptoms had set in.” If you’re unsure about the benefits of using these products, or which one you should opt for, take a look at this simple guide. How do they work? Firming creams are designed to target areas which are susceptible to sagging and loose skin, like the neck and areas around the eyes. While cheaper products will usually just moisturise your skin, more exclusive brands use ingredients which boost the body’s production of collagen and increase elasticity – reducing the appearance of the wrinkles and loose skin. Which one should I buy? The product you opt for will all depend on which areas of your body you want to see the most changes. For example, NeoStrata’s Triple Firming Cream from Pharmacy At Hand is designed specifically for the neck, to tighten skin and exfoliate dead skin cells. It stands to reason that your body, which doesn’t suffer from as much exposure to the sun as your face and hands, is less susceptible to wrinkling and sagging. Using a cheap and cheerful moisturiser is enough to keep things soft and toned, and of course, wearing a high-factor sun cream when you do sunbathe is a must. What products should I use it with? A firming cream is […]

Steep vs. Cheap: Houndstooth-print coat

Spy the snowstorm this morning? Rather, did you survive it? Well, given spring hasn’t fully sprung, yet, we’re still hanging onto our toasty, winter-warmer essentials. Yes, that involves a rather trusty and chill-proof coat – but one that doesn’t compromise on style in the slightest. If you’ve been searching for that winning combination, then look no further than our outerwear finds for this week’s Steep vs. Cheap. Coming in at the pricey end is the Mosley coat by alice + olivia (£250). We’re totally digging the houndstooth print (very Sixties), and can’t quite get over the snug factor! The cocoon cut feels perfect for now, while the look-at-me print is strong yet classic. Not got the extra cash to burn? Why worry, when high street saviour, Mango, is at the rescue? We’ve tracked down an equally modish version of the houndstooth-print coat in a delish wool-blend, for a rather modest price tag. Cashing in at £59.99, you’ll have enough left over for a second splurge. Just don’t blame us. So, which one will it be? Shop both coats below. Steep: alice + olivia Mosley long oversize cocoon coat, £250, available at Oxygen Boutique. Cheap: Houndstooth wool-blend oversize coat, £59.99, available at Mango.

Highlights from the Jimmy Choo prefall 2014 press day

Tube strikes? Ha, we laugh in the face of tube strikes – nothing, and we really do mean nothing – can stand in  the way of us heading to Jimmy Choo HQ in London’s Victoria and drooling over staring at the brand spanking new prefall 2014 collection. And the Jimmy Choo.08 collection, to use its full and proper name,  really was brand spanking new, as we saw styles we hadn’t really seen from the English brand before – and that’s largely thanks to creative director Sandra Choi’s new vision. “I love feminine silhouettes, and Jimmy Choo has become synonymous with the iconic stiletto which we continue to reinterpret with every collection ,” said creative director Sandra Choi. “I know, from my own busy life, and from speaking to other women, that we also crave the same glamour and attitude in shoes that we can run around in all day, which is why I created the CHOO.08 mood.” Glamorous, feminine shoes with bags of attitude are exactly what we saw before us in the stunning showroom, each piece fiercer and more covetable than the last, if you can believe it. Perfect for the modern woman on the go, the collection keeps up with her fast paced yet ultra glamorous life; flats, trainers (and we do love a good Jimmy Choo trainer!), sandals and the sparkliest heels imaginable, this collection has it all! Flats and sparkles Prints and vivid colours Comfy flats and bold trainers   Wow factor “look at me” shoes and accessories

Givenchy studded lace oxfords: Yay or Nay?

With spring slowly creeping upon us, lusting after somewhat impractical shoes is a given. And, this week we’re digging these lush Givenchy studded lace oxfords (£904). Not quite up there with our wear-everyday foot gear just yet, but nevertheless, gorgeous enough to gawk at! Bringing you well and truly out of winter’s dull grip, the striking effect of polished silver studs against angelic white lace and a solid wooden sole gives these Givenchy oxfords immediate buy-me-now appeal, but will you take the plunge? Here’s a little helping hand if you’re stuck on parting with the pounds… Yay Spring-perfect: A great option if you’re looking to update your new season wardrobe by way of statement-making shoes, without committing to a trend. Flats: Well, traipsing around in heels all day isn’t the most foot-friendly of options. Your feet will be utterly grateful for the style and comfort factor rolled into one! Boy-meets-girls: The ever-present androgynous trend shows no sign of waning, and we’re certainly not complaining. These Givenchy oxfords are the perfect mid-way fix for girls who love boyish style. Nay Colour: White. Need we say more? Price: Sitting smug at £904, you’ll have pretty feet, post-purchase. Shame the same can’t be said for your finances… Impractical option: Although they come with a stiff mesh lining to help maintain the shape, lace-enveloped shoes were never a good idea for protecting your feet. Suddenly, puddles and unpredictable downpours will become your worst enemies. Givenchy studded lace oxfords, £904, available at My Theresa.

Is the Madonna-Miley collaboration another justification of over sexualisation?

Apart from looking freakishly similar – despite the 34-year age gap – the cowgirl outfit-clad MTV Unplugged collaboration that involved a Madonna-Miley gyration session before a bunch of fans hardly brought the shock factor. The surprisingly soft-toned live performance, “gentle” grinding and a wobbly-vocal mash-up of Madonna’s “Don’t Tell Me” and Cyrus’ smash hit “We Can’t Stop” seemed to capture the on-looking audience, but we sensed something a little more sinister at play. Not one to shy away from making headlines – who can forget that Madge-Brit smooch at the 2003 VMAs? – Madonna’s recently been covering column inches with her un-parent like behaviour. From using inappropriate captions on Instagram to allowing her 13-year-old son to pose with a bottle of alcohol, she courts controversy with ease. And, then there’s Miley; the 21-year-old world-famous for her brazen display of provocative behaviour, very little clothing and a tongue that refuses to be put to bed (inside her mouth). So, what do these two ladies acting in a sexualised manner on stage mean for their legion of fans, most of whom are either young girls or women? Well, given Madonna’s old enough to be her mother, we feel as though Miley’s performance was overshadowed by the sheer control (or lack thereof) Madonna displayed when grinding against the “Adore You” singer. After all, she’s a mother, in the public eye, and with a greater onus on her to portray herself as a positive role model. Yet here she is egging on Miley’s ostentatious on-screen personality, by joining in with a cringe-inducing wind ‘n’ grind session and, to an extent, justifying the over sexualisation of girls Miley is often associated with. Although there’s nothing outwardly wrong with what Madonna was doing upon that stage; it was her partner in grind (sorry, we had to) who […]

The Golden Globes 2014: The best dressed!

Golden Globes time! Yep, it was the 71st annual Golden Globe Award ceremony in Beverly Hills yesterday, and the red carpet was once again full of the biggest and best-dressed names in Hollywood. TV and films stars alike came together for one of the biggest nights on the awards season calendar, and to say they pulled out all the sartorial stops would be a bit of an understatement, as we don’t think our list of best-dressed celebs has ever been this big! Lupita Nyong’o definitely stole the show for us with her effortlessly elegant Ralph Lauren caped look (we got flashbacks to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Tom Ford cape dress at the Oscars a few years ago) while Olivia Wilde and Camila Alves also made our jaws drop with their glittering gowns courtesy of Gucci Première and Dolce and Gabbana respectively. Unsurprisingly, Sofia Vergara went for the wow factor in a large Zac Posen dress, while Jennifer Lawrence went for a Dior dress, as was expected. Take a look at the full list of our best-dressed ladies below and let us know who took your breath away! Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren Olivia Wilde in Gucci Première Cate Blanchett in Armani Privé Sofia Vergara in Zac Posen Taylor Swift in Carolina Herrera Camila Alves in Dolce and Gabbana Kate Beckinsale in Zuhair Murad Couture Sandra Bullock in Prabal Gurung Margot Robbie in Gucci Emma Watson in Dior Couture Mila Kunis in Gucci Première Amy Adams in Valentino Couture Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Uma Thurman in Atelier Versace Kerry Washington in Balenciaga Reese Witherspoon in Calvin Klein Emma Roberts in Lanvin Naomi Watts in Tom Ford Zooey Deschanel in Oscar de la Renta Allison Williams in Alexander McQueen

Anna Wintour is Worst Dressed of the Week in Prada

We’re looking over our shoulders as we write this, in case, y’know, Anna’s style army is hunting us down. That’s Anna Wintour, in case you were wondering. Spotted in what may become a Worst Dressed Of The Year contender pretty soon, Madame Wintour took to the red carpet for the season three premiere of ‘Girls’ earlier this week, in a Prada Spring 2014 fur coat. But this wasn’t any old coat. No. Painted boldly with a woman’s portrait, the snug cover-up was perfect for battling the New York City deep freeze, but Anna’s overall styling left us in a *facepalm* pose for some time. Paired with an even longer skirt (what?!) and knee-high leather boots (no Manolos? Where are the Manolos? Bring back the Manolos!), Anna’s styling went the complete opposite way to the runway-ready, easier on the eye look. Sporting her signature bob and stern semi-smile, the American Vogue E-I-C decided to add some extra oomph to the “eughh” factor by adding a peculiar looking scarf to the mix. Yes, we get that you wanted to chill-block, Anna, but this outfit just screams “NO!” Pull up the skirt hem and ditch the scarf, and you might have a winning look on your hands, but this time, you’re so not in vogue, Anna. Isabel Marant Holden sandals: Yay or Nay?

Spent the holiday season stuck in heels? Are the balls of your feel crying out in again, begging for a break from the four inchers sat in your shoe closet? If so, then cast your eyes on this week’s Yay or Nay shoe, because there’s not a platform or kitten heel in sight! Enter the Holden leather sandals by Isabel Marant. Better known for her sell-out wedge sneakers, Marant has worked her magic in fashion’s newly favoured ‘ugly shoe’ department, and the result? Uber-comfy, quilted leather sandals perfect for your next sunny venture. But, would you dare slip into them? Check out our reasons for saying Yay and Nay to a heel detox (yup, that’s a thing) below: Yay Your podiatrist would be proud: Given the health benefits often associated with wearing heels are few; a heel detox is just what the doctor podiatrist ordered. Comfort never looked so good. Great price: At £280, although not the cheapest in te market, the Holden sandal has decent price point for high-end leather. Carry-through trend: After Phoebe Philo made it OK to shamelessly wear furry Birkenstocks, the surge in ‘ugly shoes’ has been impressive, and is still going strong. Heels? What heels? Nay Not weather-proof: Well, given we’re battling unpredictable weather this side of the pond for most of the year, making a splash in the Holden sandals, or risking frostbite, is the last thing your feet will want. Lazy effort: As much as we love the comfort factor these sandals offer, the casual factor may just go too far. Paired with tailored wool trousers in a glossy editorial, they may look the bomb, but in reality, you risk dirty looks from you boss for wearing these to the office in the name of “fashion.” Permanent pedicures: We can all admit to […]

Choosing the Right Jewellery for Your Partner

Choosing the perfect jewellery for that special someone in your life can be a daunting task. If you’re planning to splash out, your gift needs to be exactly right. Rings and watches are among the most popular and long-lasting gifts, and they can be worn by your partner every day. Whether you’re buying for a birthday, an anniversary, or another celebration, follow our simple guide for success. Rings Before you even enter the jewellers, make sure you have a good idea of the style your partner prefers. Think about the rest of their jewellery; is it gold, silver or rose gold? You should choose something that matches tastefully. Engagement Rings If you’re helping a friends partner to choose the right ring to pop the question borrow a ring from your friends jewellery box to get the size measurements right. Not every woman favours a diamond engagement ring, but if you get a hint that her preference is traditional, do some research into what you can expect for the budget at hand. The cut, clarity, colour and carat of a diamond are all factors that influence the appearance and quality of the gem you choose. The cut and clarity impact on the sparkle of the diamond, and a poorly cut gem can seriously compromise its appearance. The colour of diamonds does vary, the clearer and more colourless diamonds being substantially more expensive. Set a budget for the ring and stick to it; remember that you still have to save for the wedding, and for your life together. Watches It’s important to remember that a good quality watch is an investment, so shop around online on reputable sites like Market Cross Jewellers. If you’re considering buying a timepiece for your partner, make sure you know what they would choose. Drop some hints […]

We can’t see her choice of footwear, but we have every faith that she made a good decision. Look at that smile – that’s the smile of a lady who feels as fabulous as she looks!

Seasonal Skin Care For Clear Complexion All Year

We all want to maintain the perfect complexion throughout the year, but as the weather shifts, drops, rises and changes it can feel like the seasons are working against us. We ask a lot from our skin as the year progresses; we want it to evolve with the weather to give us everything from the perfect sun-kissed summer tan to the quintessential Christmas rosy cheeks, but the best results require more than a splash of factor 30 when temperatures spike. If you want your skin to adapt and embrace the seasons then you have to adapt your skin care routine too by visiting experts, like Mrs Pharmacy, to keep your skin care products well stocked. So what should you do to keep up with the weather? WINDY WINTER There’s a magic in the air in winter that helps us to love those dark, rainy days and cold, long nights, but that magic isn’t quite enough to help your skin bare the effects of the icy wind. Instead of fresh, rosy cheeks, a lack of vitamins and exposure to the elements can cause dry, itchy skin that can really dampen our mood during the festive season. What To Eat – Simply altering your diet can hold the key to a clear complexion. Stodgy comfort food can be a necessity on a blustery night, but make sure you still build up your skin’s defences by eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Oily fish is also a great way to get Omega 3 into your system which is a huge support to your skin. What To Do – Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. Letting dry skin build up on your face doesn’t just lower your confidence, it also decreases your skin’s ability to retain moisture and allows toxins to build up. Find an exfoliator […]

Kim Kardashian sizzles in Saint Laurent for Kardashian Christmas card

You don’t have to be on the Christmas card list to take a peek at the Kardashian klan’s holiday card. Most of the Kardashians can be seen posing for David LaChapelle for their annual Christmas card, and this year, despite their being a noticeable absence of some regular faces (no brother Rob, or any of Kim, Kourtney or Khloe’s other halves or little North West), the card looks busier than ever! The first thing we noticed (well, two things) were Kim Kardashian’s breasts squeezed into a Saint Laurent Paris dress with a sexy high split. Who knew the holiday season could be so raunchy? Kendall and Kylie Jenner showcase their modelling credentials as they pull their fiercest poses for the occasion, while Kourtney’s children Mason and Penelope bring the cute factor to the proceedings. The Christmas card also delves into the Kardashian archives as old pictures of  the family can be seen scattered around throughout the card. Do you like the Kardashian Khristmas 2013 card or did you prefer the simple all-white card they sent out last year? [Gossip Cop]

MFL Team’s Christmas Wishlist

Happy December, everyone! This is the busiest month of the year for Santa and his elves, so we’ve always been firm believers in making their lives easier by compiling a Christmas wishlist for them. There’s still time to make yours and mail it to the North Pole, so get scribbling, posting and heck eve emailing to ensure you get what you want this Christmas. (Only if you’ve been good, obviously!) So Santa, please see below for our Christmas wishlist pieces. We’ve been very good girls this year, promise. Mince pies, carrots and milk in the usual spot… Love Team MFL x Farhana: I can’t venture out without music, be it at the gym, or on one of my long weekly walks. So, a trusty (read: stylish) pair of headphones is an absolute must. I don’t particularly like in-ear headphones, so these Layla headphones by FRENDS are just perfect. I love the mix of white leather and gold metal detail, and at £130, they’re just about in my budget. Now, to drop some hints! FRENDS Layla headphones, £130 Michele: On the top of my wish list is this gorgeous bowling bag by Victoria Beckham. Victoria can do no wrong at the moment and considering that I can’t get this bag out of my head at the moment…I’m inclined to agree! Victoria Beckham seven python bowling bag exclusive to My Theresa, £2,250 Maria: It might not look like much, but this is the absolute dreamiest bag I think I’ve ever seen. I’ve been in the market for a big bag that I can tote with me on a day-to-day basis and just throw all of my belongs into for quite a while now, and this definitely fits the bill. The colour is a trans-seasonal dream; when it comes to investing in high-end […]

The 2013 American Music Awards: The best dressed!

The annual American Music Awards took place in LA last night, and it’s pretty safe to say that the ladies – whether they worked in music or not – did their bit to make sure they stood out on the red carpet, on stage, and even in the audience. White was a big theme on the red carpet, with Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie opting to wear the shade – or lack thereof – as they arrived at the ceremony. While a newly-slimmed down Christina and perma-skinny Nicole went for dresses with cut-out detailing to show off their toned and flawless figures, Miley went for a chic tux instead. Didn’t expect that, did you? Elsewhere on the red carpet, the wow factor continued with a stunning Oscar de la Renta look from Katy Perry, a dazzling Dolce and Gabbana dress from Ariana Grande, and a Versace-clad Lady Gaga arriving on a white horse. We couldn’t make it up! See the rest of our red carpet hits below and let us know who your favourite is… Katy Perry in Oscar de la Renta Taylor Swift in Julien Macdonald Ariana Grande in Dolce and Gabbana Lady Gaga in Versace Jennifer Hudson in Christian Dior Naya Rivera in Michael Kors Christina Aguilera in Maria Lucia Hohan Zoe Saldana in Roland Mouret Miley Cyrus in Versus Versace Ciara in J Mendel Heidi Klum in Marchesa Nicole Richie in Emilio Pucci

Elizabeth Banks is a vision in bright orange Atelier Versace

Considering the fact that she has an endless supply of Christian Dior dresses to choose from, as well as a perfect figure and an infectious personality to match, it’s always going to be a hard task to upstage Jennifer Lawrence on the red carpet. However, her Hunger Games: Catching Fire costar Elizabeth Banks is giving it a jolly good go –and we think her latest red carpet look is one of her best efforts yet! Elizabeth really brought the colour and wow factor to the red carpet, choosing to wear a bright orange strapless floor-length Atelier Versace gown to the Hunger Games: Catching Fire Los Angeles premiere last night. We only wish the backdrop was a different colour so as not to clash with the dress! We love her voluminous blow-dried hair, striking eye make-up and minimal accessories. This look is absolutely flawless and we couldn’t fault a single aspect even if we tried.

Three ways to style your winter boots

Boots are an absolute must for the autumn/winter season and one of their biggest selling points is their brilliant versatility. They can be worn with almost anything in a wardrobe, from skinny jeans to a hippy-chic lace dress, a smart skirt suit or leggings and a casual top – the options are almost endless. Here are three ways to get the most wear out of your beloved winter boots this year. Go brave with bare legs Teaming ankle boots with bare legs and a well cut smock dress is a great way to tick plenty of different fashion boxes. It looks ultra on trend but is also a great way of keeping comfortable during those busy days. Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack is the poster girl for bare legs and she demonstrates how bypassing tights can still look classy when items like chic camel coats are added. Tuck in those jeans High heeled boots are brilliant for elongating limbs, especially when they are tucked into skinny grey or black jeans. Mixing sleek items with oversized pieces is what the true fashionistas do, and so if your jeans are super slim make sure you add some volume on top – think combining slim bottoms with an oversized shirt, a chunky knit or a billowing tunic. Add a statement necklace to add even more interest. Go midi Wearing midi skirts is a great way of mixing up your wardrobe. Vintage inspired midi skirts are really on trend right now and they look perfect teamed with ankle boots and a thin knit jumper or smarter top. If you are going for midi then make sure you choose a winter boot with a chunky or stiletto heel – the mid length can look a little unflattering with flat styles. Moda in Pelle is a […]

Charlize Theron, we love your style

Charlize Theron’s red carpet appearances have been slightly limited this year – compared to the last few years at least – but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t left a lasting impression. Au contraire, we know we’re going to get nothing short of perfection when she steps out onto a red carpet… the proof is in our five favourite Charlize Theron looks of the year below. 1. It was her appearance on the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Inaugural Gala red carpet which prompted us to reminisce about Charlize Theron’s unrivalled red carpet style; she looked like a true Hollywood goddess in a black and gold Alexander McQueen dress. The attention to detail of the dress was breathtaking, and Charlize made it come to life even more! 2. All eyes were on Charlize Theron at this year’s 2013 Academy Awards, which was a pretty impressive feat considering the red carpet also featuring stand-out appearances from Oscar-winners Jennifer Lawrence and Anne Hathaway, among others. Her pure-white Dior dress was purely magical, and her hair, make-up and accessories were also flawless too. 3. If anyone can work a pixie crop like a true pro, it’s Charlize Theron. She’s championing one of our fave British designers Stella McCartney on this occasion, and as well as showcasing Stella’s fine work, is showcasing her own perfectly bronzed and toned pins at the same time too. Talk about a head-turning appearance! 4. We’re noticing a bit of a theme here, as Charlize has blown us away in yet another monochrome dress. What her outfits lack in colour they certainly make up for in terms of wow factor. This belted Jason Wu jumpsuit is no exception. 5. Looking like a statuesque work of art, Charlize Theron looked phenomenal in a strapless floor-length Gucci dress at the Cinema […]
